For the   Pool Party  I styled last weekend, I wanted to serve some ice cream without the bother of worrying about them melting in the heat etc. So I scoured Pinterest and the web for ideas, and came across loads of interesting  faux ice cream desserts, so I decided to make that instead. Another thing I did NOT want to do was spend my entire day in the kitchen , so I cheated a little and used shop bought chocolate brownie bites! ;)

I styled this really relaxed, impromptu Pool Party last weekend with my kids to celebrate the beginning of our summer! Had soooo much FUN styling, splashing and basically chillaxing with them!! Today I'm sharing the party detail, but I also have a really fun (and rather yummy) tutorial coming your way soon! 

Bird's Party Magazine - Spring Summer Issue 5 With all the heat and sun shining on us, it's hard to think of Fall, right? But alas, that's how it is in the mag world - Xmas in July , Spring in December... :) I never get bored of seeing the printed Bird's Party Magazine arrive on my doorstep! Today I'm bringing you the last of our trio of  Big Top Party Tutorials : DIY Homemade Chocolate Lollipops Party Favors.  I always prefer party favors that look ornamental and serve as table decor until guests take them home. When we were putting together the spring/summer issue of Bird's Party Magazine , my dear friend Mindy from Creative Juice and I started to brainstorm ideas for a 4th of July shoot. With the Jubilee weekend coming up on the 2, 3, 4 and 5th June, the UK will be coming together in celebration of the Diamond Anniversary of the Queen's Coronation 60 years ago! So I came up with a little twist on a traditional shortbread recipe for the Rule Britannia Party Shoot , that will easily dress up any home-made (or store bought) shortbread cookies!
