DIY Apple Cake Pops & Barnyard Birthday Centerpiece

DIY Apple Cake Pops & Barnyard Birthday Centerpiece

I'm an advocate for hand-made, and don't care who knows it. BUT I also don't have a lot of time and like any working mom, budget is always at the forefront of my party planning. And last year for my kid's joint Barnyard Birthday it was no different. I baked, crafted and handmade a lot of the details, including these Apple Cake Pops and mini " Farm Orchard" Centerpiece display for the pops...

Rainbow Jelly Bean Birthday Party Ideas

Rainbow Jelly Bean Birthday Party Ideas

I ( Mindy ) live in northern California and one of our family’s favorite outings is to the jelly belly factory ! Aubrey was so excited about this theme for her party {and so was her brother ... my little guy has lots of allergies and jelly belly beans are vegan and safe for him to enjoy too} and since Aubrey’s birthday occurred in the middle of writing my book, I relied quite a bit on the incredible vendors (listed at the end) to help make her day special!  I also relied on a simple color scheme: Rainbow ! The Jelly Bean Printables were designed by Bird’s Party   - the jelly bean and striped patterns were exactly what I was looking for – and they were just perfect!

Valentine's Crafts for Kids | DIY Marshmallow Necklace

Diamonds, move over! Marshmallows are the new  girl's best friend ! :) We all know and love gumball necklaces, right? But I'm a little bit of a rebel, so decided to use marshmallows instead - OK, not much of a rebellion going on, but they are just as cute and as tasty.  Not to mention easy to make! And of course you can use or add other candies too, and start a little rebellion all of you own! Check out the steps below...

DIY and Sparkly Heart Soap Handmade Gift

DIY and Sparkly Heart Soap Handmade Gift

My husband is not a sweet kinda guy. I'm mean, he's very sweet as a husband, he just doesn't like eating sweet things. So my baking cookies or cakes on Valentine's Day is wasted on him. This is why handmade, cute, scented, sparkly, heart-shaped LOVE soap is the perfect DIY gift for him! But if the words handmade soap  sound scary, then fear not - I'm using 'Melt and Pour' Soap base, so it's super quick and easy! ;)

Modern Color Pop Valentine's Day Desserts Table

Modern Color Pop Valentine's Day Desserts Table

Don't get me wrong, I'm not the "Valentine Grinch", but I can't help but be a little tired of all the red and pink decorations out there...So this year, I decided to go out on a limb and try a different color palette for my Valentine's Party - Fuchsia, Teal and Yellow. What do you think? :) This party also has lots of home-made elements as I baked, styled and crafted...this theme would be perfect for a low-key wedding or bridal shower too!
