Paint My Party: Red and White Little Red Riding Hood Birthday Party Ideas

party-printables-supplies-blog-shop-buy-free-birthday-planning

This color party theme has to be one of my favorites. I think it has a lot to do with my love of red and all things 'toadstools'. Don't ask me to reason with you, but there's just something so whimsical about them!

Anyways, if you're also mad on this birthday party or color palette, then here's are some ideas for a woodland themed Little Red Riding Hood inspired birthday party. And yes, it's all about themed party inspiration this week. What's not to ♥?!

Easy DIY Lego Inspired Cake Bunting

For the Lego party shoot, I had no time to bake a Lego head cake (as I originally wanted ..), so printables came to the rescue once again. I think the bunting idea turned out super cute, which just shows that sometimes less really is more! ;)

Lego bricks and building blocks rule our roost. My son literally has boxes of the stuff, and so for our Lego Inspired Party week, I decided it would be cool to make use of some of them as place-card holders.

At first, I thought it would require some drilling, but it turns out it was even simpler! Check out the how-to below.

DIY Strawberry Themed Desserts Table + Recipes

I styled this mini desserts table for the July/August edition of the French national magazine, Créative. And when choosing a theme, strawberries just seemed the perfect match for a seasonal and super sweet table!

Needless to say, I LOVED styling it - not only did I get to design and shoot a brand new printable party theme in another language, but I also got to play with fondant. A lot! And fondant is kinda like modelling clay for grown ups ;)

Another fun aspect is that I had baked all the desserts myself (yes, that is fun for me..), from the cookies to the marshmallow pops, the strawberry cookies, cake and cupcakes !! (scroll down to see the recipe links).

Pixie Fairy Birthday Party: Step-by-Step on How to Make a Toadstool Birthday Cake!

As promised in my last post,  I'm sharing the step-by-step tutorial on How To Make a Toadstool Cake today! I've always wanted to bake a toadstool cake, and styling our Pixie Fairy Party gave the perfect opportunity to head to the kitchen and get a little creative and adventurous.

Now, I feel I need to add a little disclaimer here, to let you know I'm no professional baker and this was my total invention and first time making a toadstool cake. But hopefully it also shows that if I can do it (and super easily, I may add), then anyone can too! ;)

How to Style a DIY Pixie Fairy Birthday Party!

I had so much fun styling this party!  It gave me a chance to re-work our existing Pixie Fairy Designs from lilac to pink, and to create a simple yet charming kids birthday party!

Usually it takes me a good four months to plan a party from scratch (mostly because I'm a control freak who loves to DIY all aspects from printable, to baking and photography...), but for this one I wanted to incorporate simple decor ideas and create a magical ambiance that anyone can pull together quickly and without much fuss.

So check out the results, plus my super easy DIY party planning tips below - Oh, and the toadstool cake tutorial is also homemade, so watch out for a tutorial coming your way soon! ;)

Rainbow Jelly Bean Birthday Party

I (Mindy) live in northern California and one of our family’s favorite outings is to the jelly belly factory! Aubrey was so excited about this theme for her party {and so was her brother ... my little guy has lots of allergies and jelly belly beans are vegan and safe for him to enjoy too} and since Aubrey’s birthday occurred in the middle of writing my book, I relied quite a bit on the incredible vendors (listed at the end) to help make her day special!

I also relied on a simple color scheme: Rainbow! The Jelly Bean Printables were designed by Bird’s Party - the jelly bean and striped patterns were exactly what I was looking for – and they were just perfect!
