We're now stocking oh-so-pretty gold foil party straws in the shop, and apart from their obvious function as drink straws, they also make oh-so-pretty geometric decorations for our party tables, party backdrops or as hanging decor to embellish any party or home space. And since wedding season is here, I decided to craft a few simple decor pieces to show you how versatile they are as a party prop! ;)
I wish Pinterest was around when I got married. The amount of fun DIY inspiration and creative ideas...oh my! No matter how little or how much you're actually doing yourself, nothing beats getting stuck in, hands on. If nothing else, simply to have a keepsake or fun memory of something made with love, by you! And being able to say in years to come - "Oh this?! I made it!" ;)

Tic Tac's goal is to "Shake Things Up" , and I was thrilled when they asked me to come up with a fun packaging idea for a wedding favor! Tic Tac® packs remind me confetti, little colored sprinkles, perfect for weddings. So I wanted a modern vibe for the packaging, something that would be meaningful for a wedding, but also add a modern/funky twist to shake thing up ;) Naturally, I turned to printables. And glitter. 'Cause if you can't have a bit of bling on your wedding day...when can ya?!
My daughter loves pink, and I love red. So this year, I decided to go 100% down the girly route for our Valentine's Day styled shoot! I adored designing our NEW Valentine's Day printables , and working with some of the party supplies we carry in the shop , like those mini gumball machines, which I am just in love with! ♥ And if you follow me on Instagram , you'd have seen that being surrounded by all that candy is my idea of a heaven! This is the last post of Wedding series for HGTV , and we're ending on a super sweet note! These pretty truffles are super yummy but so easy to make - as with anything I bake ;) Their "bejeweled" effect is achieved by rolling the truffles in pink sugar pearls.
You probably have seen the cute tea candles I used in the latest wedding story for HGTV here. So today I thought I'd share the tutorial step-by-step on how I made those. I used melt-and-pour wax, which makes for a super simple process, and anyone can do it (NOT for kids though, as it involves hot wax!)

As part of my recent wedding story for HGTV , I got to play with spray paint and create my very own mini pedestal stands. I had found some vintage pink saucers in a flea marked, and all I needed was to spray paint some ceramic candlesticks to match. I have to say I was hooked - Not only was it easy to make, so pretty, but also way more inexpensive than buying individual stands. Now I have all sorts of plans for making larger DIY ceramic cake and cupcake stand - So watch this space! ;)
Starting the week on a sweet note. And is there any other way?! :) I baked these yummies for the recent wedding shoot I styled for HGTV . They are vanilla bean sugar cookies, and would be the be a delicious addition to any dessert table, as you can vary the color of the topping to suit your theme.
I'm no professional baker, so the thought of making a DIY wedding cake for my latest project for HGTV was a little daunting. But then I realized that with anything homemade, the beauty is in the "journey" as much as in the final product. So I went with a less is more approach. Basic pound cake, simply frosted with vanilla cream cheese frosting (thanks to all the masterclasses in Caking it Pretty !).
