Usually I hate it when summer ends, but this year summer has been so intense, that I really welcomed Fall with open arms! Plus, it's another great opportunity to get back in the kitchen and bake some treats, without fear of putting the oven on.

This year I'm inspired by all things Monster High for Halloween (mainly 'cause I have a little fan at home...). So much so, that together with some of my fave party and food bloggers; we put together a huge and totally SPOOK-takular spread in the Fall issue of Bird's Party Magazine - with decorated cookies, cake pops, cupcakes and sparkly party ideas inspired by the Monster High vibe!

Mantles are not just for Christmas... In fact, if you decorate nothing else in your home, then go for the mantle piece as its usually a focal point and can instantly feel festive, whatever the occasion.  And Halloween is not different! Hello my pretties!!  I'm currently working on  Bird's Party EU SHOP  lookbook, and Pinterest is one of my first calls for inspiration. But then it doomed on me (sorry, it's the Halloween vibe coming through..) that there' are sooo many complicated and time-consuming ideas and crafts out there... ain't nobody got time for that! So I thought I'd step out of my usual pinspired route and see what I could find/create in a  jiffy and inexpensively, using every-day party goodies.  Hopefully it shows that it doesn't really take much time (or skill) to create a boo-tiful display ;)

Hello sweet  friends ! Happy to be back with my batteries fully charged for what looks like will be a cray-cray season ahead! Thankfully I spent some time chillaxing at this magical place ...which is handy seen the size of my to-do list  already !  Between   stocking   the shop with some exciting new party goodies (can't wait to share!), prepping a Christmas edition with Créative magazine ,  organizing   three creative workshops in October, not to mention some fun projects with PBS Parents ;  the next few months are  chock-a-block!!

I have to say, these bread sticks look a little realistic... But I can also assure you they taste absolutely scrumptious, and totally helped to make the Halloween Chili Buffet a hit! So much so in fact, that when I asked my daughter "What would you like to do for Halloween this year? "  (meaning costume...), she replied without a moment's hesitation - "Witch Bread Fingers!"  :)

My husband makes the best chili I've ever tasted. So much so in fact, that I never order it in restaurants for the fear it won't be on par! :) So when styling my Halloween Chili Buffet , the natural choice was to cook his chili recipe, and today I'm sharing it with you. It's simple, unctuous and tastes awesome. And you can make it ahead of the party! ;)

Have you ever been tempted to go monochrome for Halloween? I did last year , and totally loved it! Monochrome is sleek, is chic and is one of the Fall color trends for 2013. What's not to love?! I think this palette is really easy to pull together (think mummies, spiders, bats, crows...) and really helps to add an air of  grown-up sophistication to Halloween festivities. Halloween is not just about 'orange'. And this week we have some pretty spook-tacular color schemes that look just as eerie and super fun!!  The palette of green and black just screams " Frankenstein " to me, and here are some pretty fabulous finds I've been pinning, to help inspire a green-hued monster of a bash ! ;)

I think the whole Monster High phenomenon really has had a big part to play in all the trending pink Halloween (or Pink-o-Ween) parties we see emerging everywhere. The fact Halloween also falls in the Pink October month, makes pink the ideal color for this spooky holiday! So if you fancy a little something girly, glam and totally  pinkalicious this Halloween, here are some of our fave ideas we've been pinning.

If you would have seen my (Tess) face yesterday as we drove out of the city and into the country for the afternoon, you would have thought the barrister slipped in a little something extra into my London Fog. On our way out the the pumpkin farm, the high-rises of our neighborhood were quickly replaced with row after row of golden-leafed trees. Maybe it's because I've lived in the city for a while now, but I had no idea I could ever be so excited about fall foliage. The beautiful colors of fall were captured in these Fall Leaf Mini Cakes .

The NO-BAKE Halloween Kids Party Treats I posted last year were winners, for sure! I loved making them. My kids loved test-driving them.
