Following from last week's brunch post , and as promised; here's my recipe for Vol-au-vent Baked Eggs. Baked eggs is something I've pick up in France ( œufs cocotte ), and it's a great way to serve eggs for an occasion such as brunch, because you can get all the yummy flavors and fun of the egg (yes, eggs are fun!) without the 'slaving over a hot stove' factor.
Happy New Year, party friends! January is not my favorite month, I have to say. It's hard enough getting back to a work/school routine after the end of year parties. This one really is totally last minute - Tried and tested! I was invited to an impromptu dinner party on the weekend, and was caught short on gifts, so I took a bottle of wine (of course, that I have in stock, no problem!) and a little box of homemade White Chocolate and Peppermint Bark - So yum and festive, no-one need know it took less than 10 minutes to make! ;)
Since this week's been all about Hot Cocoa , I thought a befitting gift or favor idea would be a jar of homemade hot cocoa mix for guests to enjoy at home. Following on from our Hot Cocoa Bar pots, today I'm sharing my recipe for delicious Salted Caramel Hot Cocoa . I love hot chocolate. And salted caramel. But only recently tried combining the two into a beverage fit for the gods. This recipe is so easy and quick since I used caramel sweeties that melt straight into the milk or cream! ;)
Macarons are my Achilles' Heel . So until I perfect them, I'm more than happy to buy ready-made. And it was no different for my Hot Cocoa Bar on the weekend. I found these delicious chocolate macaron that had a crunchy (thin French wafers called Gravottes) topping and ganache filling, and it was so beyond delicious!!!
Following on from my posts last week on styling a Hot Cocoa Bar here and here , I thought it would really be handy to share a recipe on how to make l Homemade Marshmallows ! ;) I know you may be thinking - "Why the heck would I want to make my own marshmallows" - Well, I thought that too...BEFORE I made them!! The taste for starters, is beyond dreamy (and quite addictive). Plus, it's a real fun thing to make (with or without kids). AND if that wasn't enough to convince you, making your own marshmallows means you can color them and cut them in any shape you like to match your party theme and colors perfectly! ;)
