My favorite part of the Christmas Holidays is cooking and baking well into the New Year. It's my way of showing my family and friends how much I love them. I feed, therefore I love 😋  But I also like putting my feet up and enjoy their company, so I tend to go for big batch recipes, stuff I can make ahead or easy bang-it-in-the-oven-and-forget-about-it type of recipes. Hence this tasty Christmas roast pork with a gorgeous herbs and mustard crust, which I served at my Christmas meal last year!

Flamingos are my latest obsession . I think it's mainly due the fact that it's the perfect summer party theme. And that they're pink, of course! Not sure they'd be such a hit if they were a different color ;) So for our flamingo pool party last weekend , we (my 8 year old daughter and I) made some DIY flamingo table decorations and headbands that double duty as photo booth props!

Today we're partying with our friends over at  Better Homes and Gardens , in celebration of the release of their NEW party-style magazine ' Get Together '!  I'm so excited to be joining this party, and can tell you first hand how AWESOME the publication is!!

One of my resolutions this year is to bake more cakes.  Cupcakes still hold a special place in my heart, don't get me wrong; but there's something about a cake that just screams "celebration", don't you think?! I just love cakes!  And in life, you're bound to need a cake at some point, so perfecting those cake decorating skills is a necessity, really. Even if you're not a party blogger!

American Football is not no longer a sporting event that's celebrated in the US alone. The love of the game and the NFL Super Bowl has taken over the globe, and I'm happy to see so many bars where you can now watch the Super Bowl in London, Paris and all over Europe! So a Super Bowl themed party was really a necessity 'round here.  Even, if like me; you're in it just for the food & the beer ;)

Happy New Year, party friends! January is not my favorite month, I have to say. It's hard enough getting back to a work/school routine after the end of year parties. It's sort of a personal challenge to try to find THE perfect Holiday recipe that ticks all the boxes (quick, easy, tasty, pretty...), and become my new go-to party food favorite!

If you follow along on Instagram (yes, you really should) you'd have seen sneak peeks of my studio and office make-overs this summer. I'm nowhere finished yet, but the lounge where I do all my photo shoots is at last painted and a blank canvas waiting to be adorned with party decor each season. And this simple DIY Thanksgiving tablescape is the first to christen the space!! It's quiet appropriately, as I'm super thankful to have this little nook to do my work in.  And for that alone, I'm extra giddy to share the photos with your today! :)

Being from Italian descent, I grew up with polenta. And one of my fave dishes is creamy polenta with Bolognese sauce and generous sprinkles of Parmesan on top. SO yum!! So naturally, when thinking up delicious appetizers for our end of year parties , I turn to my Italian roots. And polenta usually figures in some shape or form, in the array of bite-size delights I serve time and time again... It's like bringing a little bit of Italy to my table :)

My Mother's Day Color POP tablescape was inspired by pompoms.  And I can tell you we pompom-ed the heck out of everything. And I mean, E-V-E-R-Y-T-H-I-N-G. Turns out pompoms are really versatile.  Think napkin rings, cute gift and favor packaging embellishments, headbands, jewelry...and even fridge magnets ! I LOVE the idea of decorative place-setting decor that also double-duties as a practical favor!

I get so many small business owners and newbie bloggers emailing me about advice on how to grow their business, how to get their work featured on magazines, how to build their social media presence or how to drive quality traffic to their blog... So one of my goals this year is to lend a helping hand. I also happen to LOVE sharing new business, blogs and discoveries; and that's why our party ideas magazine is the PERFECT platform to get your business, blog or product noticed and in front of thousands!!

This promotion is now closed! Maybe because I surround myself with  whimsical parties and fairy tale characters for a living, but one cool gadget I wish I had was a magic wand !  Either that, or a real life remote control that copies and pastes. With an 'undo' button of course! I know a girl can dream, but while this Cinderella waits for technology to catch up with the fairy-tale, there's nothing stopping me playing fairy-godmother...in the party arena at least. And it's a great way to start the new year!  'Cause "being party-fairy-godmother"  is a genuine resolution, right?! ;)

Last year we went with a pink and sparkly palette for New Year , but this year I fancied a little classic black and white New Year's Eve arty decor with a touch of gold and French chic!  I so hope gold, chic and shiny things will continue to show up not only in our party tables in 2015, but also in all areas of life! “Where’d you get those awesome Christmas cards?” is one of the things we all love to hear after choosing, creating and sending Christmas cards each year, right?! ;) And the answer (for me, at least!) is always Pear Tree. The cards that everyone loves the most are usually their unique holiday photo cards that have special interactive features like their new spinner cards, or picture frame cards .  They may have multiple pages like their photo book cards , or unusual shapes like the ornament cards . And any card with a ribbon or real gold foil automatically gets my thumbs up for awesomeness! ♥
