As a someone who blogs about parties and entertaining, I find that at times like these, it's even more important to find beauty, creativity and make even the smallest occasion, a special one to celebrate. This layer cake recipe is an adaptation of this chocolate cupcake with Baileys frosting that I shared here on the blog a few years ago. This year, for the first time ever, I decided to decorate my studio mantel for Valentine's Day! For the wall above the mantel, I had the idea to make a large balloon heart structure that would also double as a photo-booth backdrop. These balloon structures have been trending on the party scene and Pinterest for a few years, and this was the perfect opportunity to have a go at making my own!
