This party also has lots of home-made elements as I baked, styled and crafted...this theme would be perfect for a low-key wedding or bridal shower too!
Valentine's Day Party Ideas: Concept and Printables Design
The background pattern I created for the designs is a nod to my designer's sketch book, full of scribbles! Plus, I think as far as patterns go, it feel quite modern and 'urban'. The fresh colors really do pop and the hearts give it a cute and romantic feel without being too OTT. So I think this collection would look fab for either a school play-date, kid's party or grown up Valentine's Party!
Valentine's Day Party Ideas: Party Styling and DIY Ideas
For the styling I wanted to create something modern, fresh and with pops of color. For the desserts table itself, I used the small surface and multiple levels of an old dresser to display the sweet treats and add interest to the eye.
The stunning ribbon garland from A to Zebra Celebrations really helped to ad color and texture to the ensemble, but unfortunately it did not get to me in time for the first photos (due to my late planning) but added the garland to the table and changed things around a tiny bit - So it kinda gives you two quick styling ideas using the same printables! ;)
The backdrop of ascending hearts, mimics the cake design, and was achieved by punching out colored card stock with two heart-shaped paper puncher. The heart were adhered to the walls with low tack double-sided tape, but you could also mount them onto a poster board.
Valentine's Day Party Ideas: Desserts and Party Favors
Sweet treats on the dessert table included home-made cream cheese cake pops (tutorial coming soon), fuchsia, yellow and blue French macarons, vanilla cupcakes adorned with wrappers and cupcake toppers and a home-made two-tier cake topped with the most adorable peg dolls from Craft That Party, as well as assorted candy in the colors of the party.
Favors included little Valentine's Favor Box from Bird's Party printable Collection, filled with Hershey's Kisses - Very appropriate for the occasion! :)
HUGE thanks to my talented and professional party friends Jenny and Nancy for obliging (at the very last minute) and sending me the gorgeous goodies for this shoot - Couldn't have done it without your help ladies! ♥
