Halloween is only a few days away, can you believe it?! And if you need some last-minute ideas, then these easy to make skull drink stirrers are a perfect, quick DIY for this weekend!
They look so chic and will help add a creepy touch to any drink you serve at Halloween! 💀
This DIY is also a great way to jazz up Halloween decor items you may already have at home! I'm all up for re-cycling and re-purposing when it come to my party decor, so this is the idea project to put those small bits and bobs of decor to greater use!
For instance, these mini skull have been sitting in my "Halloween stash" box for years. So when I styled my Creepy n'Chic Halloween cocktail bar this year, I had an ah-ha moment, and the skull drink stirrers were born! 😉
Plus, I love it that I didn't have to spend a penny on this fun to make craft (score!). And that's always a huge bonus too, right?!
DIY Halloween Skulls Drinks Stirrers
Materials:
* Plastic mini skulls
* gold spray paint
* wooden BBQ sticks (some for spraying, and same amount again for the stirrers)
* hot glue
* scissors or secateurs for cutting the sticks
Directions:
1) Make a small hole on the base of each skull with the pointy end of the BBQ sticks. If the plastic on your skulls is not very flexible, then carefully use a craft knife to make a small hole. Insert the wooden sticks into the skull all the way so they are firmly in place.
2) In a well ventilated area, place some newspaper on the surface you'll be spraying. Then holding the wooden sticks with one hand, spray the skulls with the gold spray paint.
CRAFTY TIP: Let the skull dry by inserting the sticks into a block of floral foam, polystyrene or a cake pop holder (or even a colander upside down!).
3) When the skulls are fully dry, you can do another coat of spray paint if needed.
4) When ready to use, simply remove the painted sticks from the skull, and add new ones in place. Trim the length of the sticks to fit your glasses with strong scissors or secateurs. Use a cute party straw in the same length to hide the wooden sticks.
CRAFTY TIP: If needed, add a dot of hot glue to secure sticks and straws to the base of the skulls.
Easy, right? 😊
