DIY No-Sew Embroidery Hoop Wall Art
Welcome to another edition of Kids' Crafts - crafts made by kids, for kids!
If you didn't see, this year we kicked off a new blog series called 'Kids' Crafts' inspired by my mini-me!😍 Yes, we're a family of craft-lovers, what can I say?!
My daughter (much like myself...) loves shopping for craft supplies with me, and often inspires my blog projects with her fresh ideas and child-like interests.
And this week, we made some easy and super adorable, DIY embroidery hoop wall art for Valentine's Day!!
With all our Kids' Crafts projects, we try to use easy-to-handle materials and techniques to make it suitable for a parent-child craft session. So this is a no-sew project. Can I get an amen?! 😁
This is the perfect activity to make with (or without) the kiddos but you do need some adult supervision, especially when handling hot glue and scissors!
This DIY projects would make a fun activity for a crafting weekend, party activity or to decorate a child's bedroom, home or to use as party decor for Valentine's Day!
Of course, you can totally change up the colors and designs to suit another party theme too. Your imagination is the limit!
Check out the fun DIY details below!
DIY No-Sew Embroidery Hoop Wall Art
Please Note: This project not suitable to children under 5 years of age as there are small parts involved!
Materials:
* embroidery hoops of various sizes
* felt in various colors
* glitter heart and letters foam stickers (from craft stores) - or use foam sheets to cut your own shapes
* pompoms, ribbons scraps, buttons etc for trim and decor
* hot glue gun (adult help required!)
* scissors
Directions:
1) Insert a piece of felt into your embroidery hoops. You may need an adult's help for this.
2) Trim off excess felt at the back of the hoops with scissors.
3) This is the fun part! Decide and arrange your heart and letter stickers on to the hoops front, making sure the metal hoop opening is facing the top (this is where you'll hang the hoops on the wall.). Peel and stick your stickers onto the felt.
CRAFTY TIP: If needed, ask an adult to add a dab of hot glue to the stickers to make them more secure.
4) With an adult's help, add trims, ribbons, buttons and other decor to the hoop using hot glue. Then let an adult hang the hoops on your wall. Ta-Dah! 😍
This looks like a great craft for older kids as well!
