That's it, summer's officially over! My kids got back to school this week, and the cooler temps are already beckoning for all things Fall, like pumpkin spice lattes and cozy craft sessions in front of the TV 😊
So today I'm sharing a couple of super cute, and simple DIY projects that are perfect to get your office or school life organized and oh-so pretty!
After a long summer break, I like to ease myself gently back into the working routine with a couple of simple DIY projects. It makes the transition from summer to Fall a lot easier to digest. Plus, it's a fun way to get my creative juices flowing again for the new season ahead!
For these office decor projects I used some pretty girly colors, patterns, textures and gold foil (my obsession) to match my home office and my daughter's school desk. But feel free to swap the paper colors and patterns for a boy's office or to suit your own decor and tastes!
These DIY projects are also a great weekend activity to get the kids involved and excited for the new school year. So don't hesitate to enlist the help of little hands for these DIYs! 😉
Gold Foil DIY Projects for Your Office
DIY Gold Foil Clipboards
Materials needed:
* blank clipboards of various sizes (you can get these in craft stores or re-vamp existing ones you may have at home)
* scrapbook papers in your choice of colors and textures (I used pink patterns, glitter and gold foil)
* scissors
* ruler and pencil
* PVA glue (white glue)
Directions:
1) Start by tracing the shape of your clipboard onto the papers.
2) Cut out the main shape. Don't forget to measure where you'll cut at the top of the clipboard also.
3) Using a paintbrush, glue the paper onto the front of the clipboard. If using two different papers for top and bottom, proceed as steps 1 and 2 above to measure, cut and glue the bottom half paper.
4) Use your custom clipboards to display a pretty sign (I made mine in Word) or use them organize school schedules and calendars.
DIY Gold Foil Pencil Holders
Materials needed:
* hexagonal blank pencil holders (from craft stores)
* scrapbook papers (I used pink patterns, glitter and gold foil)
* acrylic shimmer paint
* paintbrush
* PVA glue
* scissors
Directions:
1) Start by painting one of the sides of the pencil holder. Let it dry.
2) Measure and cut strips of scrapbook papers to fit on the other sides of the pencil holder.
3) Glue in place with PVA glue. repeat for other paper colors, patterns and textures.
4) Let it dry before using decorating with adhesive stickers and embellishments.
P.S. - For the third pencil holders I chose to use paint only.
