These little beauties are made from white polka dot fabric, but they would be just as good made from red felt. I had made them a while ago but had not decorated anything with, until now!
This satin hanger is simply one of those ugly plastic hangers (you know the ones you get when you buy children's clothes?) covered with plastic bags to act as padding (think recycling ...) You could use wadding too. Then you simply wrap the satin ribbon all around, finishing off at the hook with a bow. Attach a strawberry with hot glue. It makes for an original stocking filler, don't you think? :)
This cute mini dresser is actually a jewellery box and it's going to be part of my little girl's homemade pressies this year, together with Candyfloss Ted. It's an MDF article that I bought at a bargain shop for about 2.50€. I painted with acrylic paint to match her bedroom and varnished it. I also embelished with glitter around the mini heart-shaped mirror because a girl can never have enough glitter...Glue the strawberry as before.
This hairband is going in the stocking! Again a girl can never have enough accessories hehe
Just cover a thin plastic hairband with satin ribbon (securing at the start and finish with hot glue) and pop a couple of strawbs on top. I used double satin ribbon here.
The rest of the strawberries went down a treat with some whipped cream. Just kidding...With the others, I made some key rings, again for stocking filling purposes. They can also be attached to handag zips, pouches, mobile chains, etc.
Without further ado, here's how to make them:
- Cut a circle of desired diameter out of your chosen fabric (I used a saucer as a template)
- Cut the circle in half to get 2 semi-circle shapes (this makes 2 strawberries)
- Take one of the semi circles and fold right sides together along the straight side and stich by hand or machine (shown by the red dotted line on the photo)
- Turn right sides out and fill the piece with acrylic fibre
- Doa running stich along the opening, pulling the stich to close the hole.
- Cut a star or leaf shape on green fabric (or felt) and stich or glue on top of the strawberries using fabric, craft glue or hot glue
