Vintage Americana 4th July Party BBQ + NEW Printable Designs!

When we were putting together the spring/summer issue of Bird's Party Magazine, my dear friend Mindy from Creative Juice and I started to brainstorm ideas for a 4th of July shoot. Mindy's hubby is in the military, so we wanted to give it a Vintage Amaricana look to the designs with a  touch of patriotic red, white and blue 4th of July!

Mindy as always, delivered a jaw-dropping 4th of July party with stunning details beyond my wildest expectations!! She's such a rock star and one of the sweetest, kindest and most talented friends who always blows me away with her creative juices! :) Check out all the details of this gorgeous party as seen on HWTM and The Party Press:

4th of July Party Details: (as told by Mindy)

The fourth of July is one of my favorite holidays! I wanted to keep the colors authentic to the American Flag so we stayed with a dark navy and rustic red color scheme. It wouldn’t be a 4th of July party with out good old BBQ food!

We enjoyed some classic bbq staples: slow cooked ribs, corn on the cob, fruit salad, and sweet potato fries displayed into printable snack boxes from Bird's Party 4th July Kit! I used a small cookie cutter to cut the watermelon into stars. The layered drink was one of my favorite parts – once you know the technique, the possibilities are endless!

Choose drinks with varying levels of sugar content per serving and fill the glass full of ice. Add the most dense {the one with the most sugar} first to create the bottom layer. Slowly add the other drinks one layer at a time in descending sugar content order!

The layers will remain separate for at least 10 min and then begin to mix so leave this as the last step before guests arrive. The dessert table was right inside off the patio to avoid the direct heat and sun.

I created the “cupcake stadium” by repurposing candleholders – they were the perfect shape and size to hold a cupcake. I used my cricut to create the cupcake wrappers and candy favor boxes using scrapbook paper.
