Kids Party Ideas | A Penguin Winter Birthday

This super cool Penguin Birthday Party (pun intended..) was styled by our fabulous contributor Mindy from Creative Juice for Bird's Party Magazine Winter 2011. 

Mindy used Bird's Party penguin frozen Printables and create a really rather fabulous "igloo" inspired desserts table, and I think the cute details she incorporated made the party really soft and delicate, showing just how versatile the theme can be for any child's winter birthday - Boy or Girl!

A Penguin Inspired 'Cool Igloo' Frozen Birthday Party: Party Styling, Ideas, DIY Decor, Food, Favors and Printables

I almost always choose two main colors for every party I create - in this case blue and yellow - it keeps my design and shopping focused! 

I love a good DIY project so I found some branches and spray painted them white and used Styrofoam blocks to keep them upright. 

The glass "igloo" blocks are stacked crafting blocks. They are great because they can be filled and used as decorations too! I also used the large glass crafting block to hold the icy pops. I found these great foam igloos (which were a little time consuming to put together!) as the place card and food card holders. 

I wanted to use materials that are easy to find - almost everything I used can be found at your local craft store. 

The favors were very simple and NO-SEW! The felt snowflakes were glued onto a hair clip and a cut piece of flece material - very inexpensive too!
