Sparkling Citrus Holiday Sangria Recipe
When it come to Holiday entertaining, it's always a great idea to serve a big-batch punch or signature cocktail that your guests can get stuck into straight away. Something that involves little effort, and maximum satisfaction is my motto.
So for my Silver & Blue Cocktail and Appetizers party I shared earlier in the week, I did just that.
This sparkling citrus cocktail punch works great with regular white wine too, but in this case I used sparkling wine like Champagne, hence the name. But be sure to add the bubbles just before serving as they do tend to fizzle out eventually.
Sparkling Citrus Holiday Sangria Recipe
Ingredients:
* 1 orange cut into slices
* 1 lemon cut into slices
* 2 tangerines cut into slices
* seeds from one pomegranate
* one persimmon cut into star shapes (for the festive touch!)
* 1/4 cup triple sec
* 1 litre (33 fl oz) of tangerine or orange juice
* 1 750ml (25 fl oz) bottle champagne or sparkling wine of choice
Directions:
Place all ingredients (except champagne) into a punch bowl. Mix and then refrigerate the mixture 3 hours or overnight. Right before serving, pour in champagne and stir.
(Over time the champagne will lose it's bubbles). Pour into glasses, and serve!
TIP: You can double or triple this recipe easily. You can replace the sparkling wine with regular white white of choice.
