If you follow the blog you probably know how much I love baking and decorating cakes. My love of cakes comes from watching my mom bake every Sunday when I was a child, so baking brings back so many wonderful memories for me! Nowadays, I love to try my hands at different cake decorating techniques, like today's strawberry red velvet and vanilla checkerboard cake . I love how fun it was to make, and it was my first time making a red velvet cake!
French Almond Frangipane Galette des Rois or Kings Cake Recipe
Epiphany is nearly upon us so I thought I'd share a super delicious, but really easy to make dessert that is so popular this time of year in France - the Galette des Rois or Three Kings Cake ! This is really a tart or pie sort of "cake" that dates back to medieval times, and is meant to celebrate the feast of the three wise men or three kings from the nativity of Christ. The Epiphany feast is held on the 6th of January each year, and this dessert is therefore eaten on this day of course, but folks start enjoying it as early as January 1st in my experience living in France.

How To Make Hot Cocoa Bombs for Christmas
This post is the bomb. Literally! Sorry, couldn't help myself, it's all the Christmas spirit! 😁 Anyways, today I'm showing you how to make hot cocoa chocolate bombs, from scratch, at home, in a super easy and fun way! These hot cocoa bombs are perfect for adding a little fun to your hot chocolate station, Christmas movie marathon or simply wrap them up to give to someone you love!
Christmas is when I bake the most. Every weekend, it's a new cookie recipe I like to try. And these days, I find myself reaching for my gluten free brownie cookies over and over again! These brownie cookies are fudgy in the center and slightly crisp on the edges. They pack a huge chocolate flavor and have that umami note that make it my (and my family's) favorite cookies EVER! I love brownies. And cookies. So the idea of combining both brownies AND cookies into an easy-to-make recipe, is for me, the embodiment of Holiday baking 😉
I recently saw a recipe for stained glass cookies made with hard candy or boiled sweets. They looked so pretty, but because I'm not a huge fan of those candies, I decided to make my own stained glass Christmas cookies using hard caramels instead. I chose regular-flavor hard caramels, as well as coffee and lemon flavored ones for a more "grown-up" twist on this recipe. The result is a less transparent cookie for the opaque caramel, but that tastes infinitely better in my opinion! 😉
Christmas Wreath Cheese Platter Appetizer
Cheese boards and cheese platters have been trending now for a couple of years, and I'm not surprised. They're a no-bake, quick and easy to assemble appetizer that packs the wow factor for any party! For my Thanksgiving celebrations , you probably saw that I served my cheese board with fruits and seasonal produce for a "harvest" bounty sort of feel. But for my Christmas cheese platter, I wanted a simpler appetizer that was also very festive and even easier to assemble than my traditional, full-on cheese board.

Roast Pork with Herb & Mustard Crust Recipe
My favorite part of the Christmas Holidays is cooking and baking well into the New Year. It's my way of showing my family and friends how much I love them. I feed, therefore I love 😋 But I also like putting my feet up and enjoy their company, so I tend to go for big batch recipes, stuff I can make ahead or easy bang-it-in-the-oven-and-forget-about-it type of recipes. Hence this tasty Christmas roast pork with a gorgeous herbs and mustard crust, which I served at my Christmas meal last year!
