Homemade Snow Cone Recipe with Free Printables

Homemade Snow Cone Recipe with Free Printables - BirdsParty.com

Earlier in the year I created two summer recipes for Yum Food and Fun for Kids Magazine, one of them was this super fun and 'cool' Snow Cone Recipe!

Who doesn't love a bit of flavored ice in a hot summer's day?! It's healthier than ice cream, and you can vary the flavors an colors to suit your party theme - which is just perfect for memorial day coming up!! ;)

Recipe below + link to download your FREE party printables to adorn and embellish your snow cone or drinks station!

SNOW CONE SYRUP RECIPE

* 2 cups sugar
* 1 cup water
* 1 packet (0.1-0.2oz as pack weight may vary) unsweetened soft drink/fruit drink powder mix in your favorite flavor.
* Crushed Ice
* Optional: Fruit pieces to serve

Directions:

Add all ingredients to a sauce pan and stir over medium heat until the sugar is fully dissolved.
Once the mixture comes to a boil, remove from the heat.
Allow to cool, then decant into sterilized glass bottles. Label each bottle with a FREE printable tag from Bird's Party.

Serve the syrup over crushed ice and top with fruit pieces, if desired.

TIPS:

* If you don't have a ice crusher, you can use a blender (ice setting) to crush ice cubes. Keep crushed ice in the freezer until ready to serve.

* For a healthier version, freeze fruit juices directly onto into ice cube trays and crush them to get flavored snow!
