Brazilian Brigadeiro Chocolate Fudge Spoons Recipe

Brazilian Brigadeiro Chocolate Fudge Spoons Recipe - BirdsParty.com
These easy treats are perfect on any dessert table, but they also make fun party favors too!
The idea comes from Brazil, and the popular chocolate fudge called Brigadeiro. Traditionally, Brigadeiro are rolled little balls of chocolate fudge (much like a chocolate truffle), but using spoons in this way, not only makes it even cuter to serve, but also super easy and quick to make too.

They are the perfect little sweet treat to have while watching the world cup matches too, and the kids will love helping to decorate the spoons with sprinkles!

Oh, and you can make them a good 4 days in advance, and wrap them individual spoons in clear cellophane for a cute party favor!

Brazilian Brigadeiro Chocolate Fudge Spoons Recipe

Ingredients:
can easily be halved, doubled, tripled...
* 400 g Can of Condensed Milk
* 2 Tablespoons of Cocoa Powder (the bitter stuff used for baking, not the stuff with sugar in!)
* 1 tablespoon of Butter
* Pinch of Salt
* Chocolate Shavings, Sugar sprinkles of your choice
* Pretty party spoons

Directions:

1) Place all ingredients, except sprinkles, into a non-stick saucepan.
2) Stir over a low/medium heat with a wooden spoon until the mixture thickens and bubbles, coming off the bottom of the pan slightly. It takes about 10 minutes - Don't be tempted to leave the stove, these burn easily!
3) Immediately pour the mixture into a ceramic dish or bowl to cool for about 5 minutes. Get your sprinkles and spoons ready. Then with the help of a  couple of tea spoons, spoon a dollop of the mixture (yes, that's the technical term here) onto your pretty party spoons and add sprinkles of your choice.
Store in the fridge until ready to serve.

For a 4th of July sweet treat, I used red, white and blue sprinkles and sugar stars; as well as blue and red chevron spoons from my shop and displayed them in cute striped paper plates from BirdsParty.fr
