DIY Animal Ear Headbands for Halloween

Confession time: Despite my love of parties, I never go OTT on costumes for Halloween. And I hate those shop-bought "monstrosities" costumes that you only wear once.

But I DO like dressing the part for any party or celebration. So I tend to opt for some funky tee-shirts, crazy tights, makeup or a little black dress (like in this post).

And almost every time, I reach our for animal ear headbands to complete the look (the mean girls "I'm a mouse, duh!" phrase comes to mind...).

"I'm a mouse, duh!"

I know it's not extremely adventurous, but that's how I roll.

It makes sense to me because I can re-use the pieces of my "costume" throughout the year without looking like I'm disguised (much).

So this year I decided to add to my headband stash and make my own animal ears for Halloween.

Kinda makes me feel good to DIY something AND it means my daughter and I have matching costumes. Now, I'm all up for that! :)

Plus, it's an awesome idea to complete any homemade Halloween costumes, last-minute office parties or trick or treating with your teens without embarrassing them (much).

These headbands are super easy to make, and I've created animal ear templates for ya so it's even quicker, k? You can make bear, cat, mouse and bunny ears. A girl needs options, right?! ;)
