These marbled candle holders are super easy and quick to make, and perfect for your home decor, Thanksgiving or Christmas tables, as you probably saw in my Boho Chic party table here!

My daughter is currently obsessed with polymer clay, and she spends hours watching YouTube videos to get ideas for her next projects, so cute! 😍

And her passion for this craft has totally rubbed off on me! I'm now slightly obsessed myself, I have to say; and thinking up new ways to use the clay, like for these marbled, donuts-shaped pretties!

Polymer clay is so inexpensive, easy to handle and super therapeutic too. So expect more crafty goodness with this medium coming to this space soon! You're welcome! 😋

You can make these totally the day or night before your party, they're that easy and quick!

Come to think of it, these marbled candle holders make great handmade Christmas gifts for any hostess - I know I'd personally LOVE to get a set in each color!

Of course, I made mine to match my Boho Chic Thanksgiving table, but as you can see from the photos, you can basically use any color you fancy to match your party table or home decor. I ended up making a pink set and a black set.

DIY Marbled Candle Holders

Materials: Makes 3-4, 2 inch or 5 cm diameter candle holders

* 1 x 350 g or 12 oz block of white polymer clay
* 2 x 57 g or 2 oz blocks of colored polymer clay in contrasting colors - I used pink and coral for pink set, and black and grey for the black set. (You won't use all of it, though.)
* craft knife
* taper candle for shaping
* parchment paper
* baking tray

Directions:

1) Cut a 2 inch block off the white polymer clay (this is your base), and small shards of the colored polymer clay with a craft knife. About a tablespoon of each color would suffice, depending on how marbled you want it.

2) Press the shards of colored clay onto all the sides of the white block.

3) Roll this block on a table or flat surface to get a long, but thick 'sausage' shape (about 1 inch thick or 2 cm). Twist the sausage shape on its own to create the marbling effect. The more you twist, the thinner the marble veins will be.

4) Now coil the 'sausage' on itself to begin shaping your round candle holder. Make a ball by rolling it on your hands or a flat surface.

5) Shape the "donuts" on a flat surface with the palms of your hands. Use the flat surface top give the edges a smooth finish. There is no right or wrong here.

6) Use the bottom of a taper candle to make the center of your candle holders. Press firmly, but be careful not to pierce through all the way to the bottom! re-shape the rounds if you want at this stage. Then place candle holders onto a tray lined with parchment paper and bake for 30 minutes at 150 degrees Celsius or 300 degrees Fahrenheit.

Let the candle holders cool and they're ready to use! Pretty, huh?

It's exactly the same technique for the black set, but I used grey and black shards mixed in with the larger white block. See above!

Do you love making your own gifts? If so, I'd love to hear what you plan to make this year! 😊

PS - On a totally different note, how many emojis do you think are "too many" on a blog post? I've slightly gone OTT today. But let's blame it on the festive spirit, shall we? 😆
