Cupcakes are befitting of any occasion as far as I'm concerned. And Thanksgiving is no different.
My go-to recipe for spiced, pumpkin cupcakes is from our blog contributor Hani. And I love topping it with cream cheese vanilla frosting (my fave standby frosting)

Ingredients:

* One batch of pumpkin spice cupcakes (recipe here)
* 4 ounces butter (softened)
* 4 ounces cream cheese (softened)
* 2 cups of icing (powdered) sugar
* 2 teaspoon vanilla extract
Directions:

Make the frosting: In a large bowl, beat together the butter and cream cheese with an electric mixer. With the mixer on low speed, add the powdered sugar a cup at a time until smooth and creamy. Beat in the vanilla extract.
If too thin, add more sugar to make it stiff enough to pipe into swirls ( I use the open star french tip). I also kept mine in the fridge for about 10 minutes to stiffen up a little. Sprinkle with sugar decor or a touch of cinnamon powder.
