Christmas Party Ideas | North Pole Breakfast

North Pole Christmas Breakfast Table Ideas- BirdsParty.com

Christmas is 'round the corner! Can you believe it?!

One of my favorite traditions in our house, is the Christmas themed breakfast. Whether on Christmas eve, a few days before or Christmas morning itself, going all out this time of year to treat the little ones is all part of the joy!

Most week days it's our schedules and 'routine' breakfast rituals that take over. And since kids wake up at silly o' clock at Christmas anyways, you might a swell roll with it!

Plus, it's also nice for me to prepare something a little more special and magical for my little elves ;)

North Pole Christmas Breakfast Table Ideas: Party Ideas, Inspiration and Printables

Whether you have guests staying over or just want to treat your kids to a truly memorable Breakfast feast, a fun North Pole inspired breakfast table, hot cocoa station and yogurt bar tick all the boxes.

All the decor and table setting can be done the night before Christmas and all prepared in advance, to ensure mom also stays present to enjoy all the memories and merry-making of the day.

I styled this particular table for Yum Food and Fun for Kids Magazine, December edition and was inspired by all things 'North Pole' for the styling and party printables used in the decor.

Some scenes from the Elf movie also kept playing in my head, like the 'Elfs main food group' of candy, candy canes, candy corn and syrup...but since I'm' a responsible parent and do not need a sugar rush (even if it is Christmas...), I toned down a little and included some healthy options.

North Pole Christmas Breakfast Table Ideas: Penguin Themed Yoghurt Bar

It's widely known that Elves love sugary treats fro breakfast...but a self-serve Yogurt Bar means you can ensure your little elves will have loads of fun whilst choosing healthy options too. Simply decant your favorite brand of yogurt into a large serving bowl, and surround it with 'Santa's hats' strawberries and a cute penguin toy for the fun-factor.

Play with the words of the toppings you serve for the yogurt bar, like oats that become 'Crispy Snow' or cereal that is described as 'Penguin Food'. No need to re-invent the wheel to make food fun - a simple play on words can add sparkle to every day breakfast treats.

Because it is Christmas, you can add a special sweet treat or candy balls as a special occasion treat. I mean, if you're ever gonna allow candy for breakfast, Christmas is the perfect occasion.

Decant your toppings into metal pails and label with a printable tag from BirdsParty.com

It included strawberry Santa's hats, yummy sprinkles like oat 'dried snowflakes' , Christmas cranberries, nuts 'penguin food' and for the elf-inspired touch I allowed Sixlets candy on the table ;)

We also had croissants, juice and honey to complement our main yoghrut bar breakfast table.

North Pole Christmas Breakfast Table Ideas: Table Setting Ideas

The table is simply laid out the night before with a simple wipe-clean table covering and glitter red place mats from Oriental Trading for added festive cheer.

In fact I worked with Oriental Trading for most of my decorative items, including the candy and super adorable penguin marshmallows! :)

Each place setting is completed with an adorable penguin mugs ready in waiting to be filled with delicious yogurt, and a cute penguin shaped cup with cute paper straw. Again, these items will help add the fun factor to your table without much effort, and are pieces that you can bring out each year, making for memorable Christmas traditions.

North Pole Christmas Breakfast Table Ideas: Party Favors

Each little guest also gets a goodies bag filled with a bendable penguin toy, penguin notepad, candy cane pencil and candy penguin lollipop from Oriental Trading.

The goodie bag is decorated with ribbon and a printable tag from BirdsParty.com - The gift allows the guests to feel extra special and keep them entertained at the table (and after) while waiting for others to finish.

North Pole Christmas Breakfast Table Ideas: Hot Cocoa Station

A separate table can also be set up with extra breakfast goodies like buttery croissants, fruit juices, preserves, honey, and hot cocoa.

I also set up a hot cocoa bar table apart so we could serve ourselves. It included rock candy and candy cane, penguin-shaped marshmallows and chocolate penguin stirrers, as well as scrumptious Italian Panettone, in homage of my Italian roots. We just can't have Christmas in our house without it!

I decorated the Panettone with more candy canes around it (stuck with royal icing flavored with orange peel), some cute marshmallow penguins and a little printable banner. This sweet breakfast bread can be served with the hot cocoa after breakfast, whilst opening the gifts!

Swizzle colored sugar sticks along with the penguin lollipops look not only 'frosty' and seasonal, but also serve as  fun stirrers to a cup of warming hot cocoa.

It really doesn't take much to make Christmas breakfast a fun affair. The key is make it different and fun. Just changing the routine around a bit and including some tasty treats is all that takes. At the end of the day it's all about creating memories, right?!

Hope you enjoy the party ideas and feel inspired to create some of you own!
