Summer's here and there's nothing I love more than to treat my family to a tasty picnic!
Whatever event you're celebrating in summer, picnics are a super relaxed way to entertain and enjoy your guests. So for me, the styling and prep need to be relaxed too. No fussy food or decor in sight! 😉
In our house, we find any excuse in summer to have a picnic - be it a birthday, end-of-school celebrations or simply a trip to the lakes.
I think it bring us all back to 'basics' and in touch with nature, and that's always a relaxing and enjoyable experience that's become an integral part of our summer 'bucket list'.
Tasty Ideas for the Perfect Summer Picnic Party - DIY Decor
Keeping the decor super simple and relaxed, I grabbed a gingham red tablecloth, some cute disposable plate, cups, straws and flatware to match the color of my party. All prettily packaged into a wicker basket that makes it easy to carry.
I also added some paper decorations that you can hang from the trees or use them to ornate your table for the cute factor. The key is simplicity! 😉

Since no picnic is complete without tasty snacks and treats, I love grabbing easy, portable and healthier version of our favorite foods.
Fruit and vegetables are a must, especially if you portion it all in cute party cups or ice cream tubs to elevate them to the “party snacks” status. Plus, it's a really great way to get kids to eat healthily in a fun way!
Watermelon is in season, is so refreshing and it rhymes with picnic, right?! What I like to do is slice it and place into a plastic container, ready to be dished out at the party.
Other picnic staples are chips and pretzels! And I am in LOVE with the great tasting, better-for-you ingredients of Snyder’s-Lance snack packs, which are so versatile. You juts grab and go!

I love serving my chips and pretzels with a couple of healthy dips like houmous, cucumber raita or pico de gallo, which goes so well with all the tasty snack flavors!
You could totally buy shop-bought, but if you prefer to make your dips, they take no time at all 😉

So many delicious foods to snack on -- I love Cape Cod chips and Snyder's pretzels. I don't usually eat Gluten Free, but it's a great option for those who do! Picnics for the win.
