DIY Easy Rainbow Balloon Arch

DIY Easy Rainbow Balloon Arch - make this party decor for your Saint Patrick's Day celebration or birthday, without the need for helium or wire frames! | BirdsParty.com

Like promised on Instagram, we're gonna be bombarding you with color until St Patrick's Day. You're welcome! 😋

Rainbows evoke something magical, don't they? So this year we're glad to be inspired by all things 'rainbow' for these celebrations. Starting with today's super easy DIY craft, with NO-helium-required, no wire frame in sight, and that only uses materials you most probably already have in the house.

Sounds good? Awesome! Let's get started!

These DIY rainbow balloon arches are perfect as table top decor or a free-standing backdrop to your photo booths! But I have been known to suspend them to a desserts table backdrop wall too. So feel free to experiment with your party decor, won't you?!

Of course, they're totally suited for Saint Patrick's Day, but also rainbow birthday parties, baby shower and many other fun and colorful party themes.

And you can make them as large as you dare too!

DIY Easy Rainbow Balloon Arch

Materials:

* 7 latex balloons in the colors of the rainbow (red, orange, yellow, green, blue, indigo and violet)
* 8 latex white balloons
* 7 small beads (or uncooked beans from your kitchen!)
* white thread
* scissors
* masking tape OR a pair of extra hands to help
* balloon air pump OR lungs

Directions:

1) For the balloon rainbow: Insert a bead inside each balloon and tie the bead to the end with white thread, making a secure and tight knot. Repeat for all the balloon colors of the rainbow (not the white balloons!)

TIP: Use a piece of masking tape to tape the balloon to a table to make it easier to tie. Or use a pair of extra hands to help!

2) Inflate the balloons, and tie the ends. I used an air pump, but lungs work just as good! 😉 Repeat for all the balloon colors of the rainbow (not the white balloons!)

3) Tie all the balloon together end-to-end, starting with red, followed by orange and so on. make sure to tie tightly with a knot at the end to secure them. Trim off excess thread from each balloon. Set aside.

4) For the cloud bases: Inflate and tie together 2 white balloons. Repeat for the next 2.

5) Twist the two sets of white balloons together to for a 'four-leaf clover' shape. Repeat steps 4 and 5 for the other 4 remaining balloons.

6) Tie the red end of the balloon 'rainbow' to one of the white balloon clouds, and the purple balloon end of the rainbow to the other cloud.

    1. Helium would make your arch very light and you won't be able to "anchor" it to a table. But if you need a floating arch, then go for it! :)
