DIY No-Sew Pink & Fluffy Table Place Mats
For my pink and copper Christmas table this year (check out the full post here), I really had my eyes set on some pink furry place-mats I saw in a shop near me.
But when I when to buy them, they'd sold out! So what's a party girl to do? Why, make her own, of course!
I searched for a similar version online but couldn't find one, so I decided to make my own pink and fluffy table place-mats for my pink Christmas tablescape!
So I then went in search of fluffy or faux fur pink fabric, that led me to this candy floss or cotton candy (as I like to call it) fleece fabric that had kind of a glued or mesh under-layer, which was so easy to work with!
If I had used faux fur, I'd have probably had to stick it down to an existing place-mat or use some other fray-stop product to keep it from fraying at the edges. So this new found version of fabric saved me a few extra steps in my DIY.
Check out the easy steps below!
DIY No-Sew Pink & Fluffy Table Place Mats
Materials: to make 6-8 round place-mats
* pink fleece fabric - I bought 1.5 m x 1 m online or 5 ft x 3ft ( you can probably pick up similar at Jo-Ann's or Amazon)
* fabric scissors
* template (use an existing round place-mat)
* fabric pencil or pen
Directions:
1) Place the template or existing place-mats on the underside of the fabric
2) Trace and cut your shape.
3) Repeat to make 5 more mats.
4) That's it! 😁
Like I said, if you use a fabric that frays a lot, then you can use fray stopper to create a hem around the edges of your place-mat. Or, alternatively create a hem with a sewing machine if you have time.
Hope you enjoy the idea and feel inspired to get crafting!
