A Farmhouse Inspired Apple Harvest Tablescape
I love dreaming up new colors, patterns, textures and creative details to dress and embellish my party tables.
And I couldn't wait to create an apple-themed farmhouse inspired tablescape to share with you guys this month!
A Farmhouse Inspired Apple Harvest Tablescape
Like I said, I was inspired by the humble apple to create some themed posts on the blog this month (click here to see them all), hence this apple harvest tablescape.
This tablescape decor or theme would be perfect for an autumnal birthday, fall special celebration or dinner party alike!
I loved taking inspiration from nature and the seasonal produce on offer at this time of year, whether in my cooking or my party styling. And before we dive into all things pumpkin...I thought a little apple inspiration makes for the perfect summer to fall transition!
The Place-Settings
For this tablescape, I tried to keep things simple and very rustic to emulate the farmhouse look I was trying to achieve.
I also wanted to add a little pop of red as a nod to the apples, so I covered my dark wood table with a red gingham table runner. I think it matched perfectly with the farmhouse harvest look!
I found these really pretty, brown and white tea-towels at my local home-ware store, and so I grabbed them to use as napkins.
They're larger than regular table napkins, but I think they really add a super charming farmhouse look to the table.
To add texture to each place-setting, I chose natural rattan place-mats, my everyday white plates and bamboo starter plates.
I also included a red polka-dot desserts plate too for added height. I love the contrasting patterns and textures of the final result.
To complement the brown and red touches, I chose copper flatware and copper tumblers, which are perfect for serving apple cider in!
The Table Centerpiece and DIY Decor
For my table centerpiece, nothing that says "farmhouse" more to me than sunflowers! So I simply added a bouquet of sunflowers to a copper urn or vase I found at the thrift store. I love the rustic vibe it adds to the ensemble!
To complete the apple theme of this table, I made these adorable apple candle holders to illuminate the table when the sun goes down.
These apple candle holders are probably my favorite elements of this table, and you can see how I made them in the video below!
The DIY Party Favors
To finish off each place-setting, I added jars of homemade salted caramel as a favor for guests to take home. But of course, apple jam, jelly or other similar "farmhouse" inspired edible gift would also work great in this set up.
You can see the recipe for my homemade salted caramel in this post I shared last week. But you could also buy it ready-made and decant into cute jars. No-one will know 😉
Check out the video below to see how to put together your salted caramel party favors!
