DIY Farmhouse Summer Decor
Hey, crafty friends! Today I bring you some easy DIY ideas for creating super pretty floral displays, which are perfect to decorate a celebration table, party space, dinner party tablescape or patio table for any soiree this summer!
All these craft projects are super easy, and best of all; they cost very little to make because they use materials we all have lying around our recycling bins!
So these projects are what I like to call "trash to treasure" projects! 😉
DIY Farmhouse Summer Decor
As with most of my DIY crafts projects lately, I have gone for a modern farmhouse style for these ideas.
But if that's not your favorite kind, then hopefully you'll still find the ideas useful and be able to tailor them to your own personal taste, colors, designs and style preference.
Trash To Treasure Farmhouse DIY Projects
For my first DIY project, I created a super adorable tiered tray from Farmer's market fruit boxes.
For summer, I decorated it with bright blooms, but I can't wait to change up the decor for each season or holiday! This tiered tray would look so charming on a patio or terrace table, as well as on your kitchen island all year around!
For the next DIY trash to treasure project, I created a farmhouse-style number vase to add some fresh (or faux) stems.
This one was made entirely by hand i.e. no cutting machines or vinyl stickers in sight, because I wanted to show you that you can still create something pretty without fancy equipment or tools! 😉
I love how therapeutic this project was to make, and cannot wait to make other vases with more numbers to build up my collection!
Obviously, you don't have to use numbers. You could also use letters and create several of these vases to spell out a word like, "HOME" or something similar.
For my next farmhouse DIY project I transformed an old tea box into a farmhouse skinny planter, that's ideal for displaying flowers on a narrow mantel or shelf.
I love how this one turned out, and cannot wait to swap the summer flowers for Thanksgiving or Christmas picks!
Last but not least, I recycled some old glass jars into pretty vases. These also double as lanterns, or you could also use them to decorate a farmhouse office to hold pens and suchlike.
To decorate my jars, I added wooden beads to the handles and some cute farmhouse labels with French text on them.
For both the jars and the planter, I designed some pretty printable labels that you can download immediately in my shop here: https://www.birdsparty.com/collections/home-decor-printables
Hope you like the ideas and feel inspired to have a go! If you do, tag me on social media #BirdsParty so I can see and share your creativity! 😍
