A Lemon Themed Tablescape for Summer
Last year, I created a bunch of lemon themed posts here for the blog, but did not have time to style a tablescape. So I decided to style this lemon table this year, with a modern farmhouse vibe and using props and decor I already had at home.
I wanted to create an easy table decor that was pretty and fresh, and that would be perfect for any celebration that summer brings, no matter how small.
Here are some of my zingy ideas below!
A Lemon Themed Tablescape for Summer
Whether you're hosting a birthday munch, graduation dinner or simply setting a pretty table on the weekend, these lemon themed ideas are perfect for styling a low key table setting at home!
The color I chose obviously had to match the lemon yellow of my theme, but I also added some pops of green and wood tones for the modern farmhouse vibe I was going for.
If you follow the blog, you probably would have seen how much I'm hooked on this decor style at the moment (check out all my modern farmhouse DIYs here).
So naturally, I really enjoyed styling this modern farmhouse lemon tablescape! I also should mention, that the challenge of shopping my own home (and garden) for the decor was a huge part of the fun of putting it all together! So don't hesitate to do the same! 😉
Unlike some of the tablescapes I often share here on the blog, this lemon themed one was much quicker to put together and a lot simpler, with only a few DIY elements and decor.
For instance, you probably saw from last week's post the lemon topiary I created? Yep, I made this topiary specifically to be used on occasions like these! This lemon topiary is such a simple decor piece that instantly pulls the theme together, and adds a pop of color and zing to any space!
To complete the table centerpiece, I added some yellow faux floral and green foliage to a galvanized little planter, and voila! A simple, yet super pretty lemon table centerpiece that anyone can replicate at home!
To dress the table itself, I opted for a white tablecloth (my everyday one) topped with a pastel yellow table runner. TIP: Pretty wrapping paper would also make a great table runner if you're in a pinch!
For the place-settings, I chose those ever-so-trendy hyacinth chargers we see everywhere, white plates with a yellow detail and a white salad plate with a gold rim.
I bought all the items in France, but I know H&M carries the same white salad plates worldwide.
For the napkins, I chose simple, green cotton napkins for a contrast to the yellow, then added white and gold flatware on top. Nothing fancy as you can see, but looks pretty enough!
To finish the place-setting decor, green water goblets with yellow paper straws, wine glasses, and votive candles inside mini galvanized metal pails to match the centerpiece planters.
For the DIY place-markers, I simply took some lemons, lemon leaves from my garden (any green leave would do, even faux ones) and wrote each guest's name with a chalk pen. Easy and totally adorable!
Hope you like the ideas and feel inspired to have a go! If you do, tag me on social media #BirdsParty so I can see and share your creativity! 😍
