A Botanical Tablescape with 5 DIY Projects
There are so many things I love about fall. The cooler evenings, the changing colors of the leaves outside, the beautiful harvest produce on our tables, and the magical lighting this time of year are just a few of my favorite things about it!
So taking inspiration from this season's beauty, I styled a botanical inspired tablescape that's perfect to transition from summer, into a more cozy fall mood!
Check out all my 5 easy DIY projects below to help you copy this botanical tablescape look at home!
A Botanical Tablescape with 5 DIY Projects
For this tablescape I created a few pretty DIY projects for a botanical-themed decor in partnership with Sizzix!
This theme is ideal for so many occasions you may be hosting this season, like a wedding, bridal shower, baby shower or a special birthday or dinner party!
Botanical Table Styling
For the styling of this table, I wanted a woodsy, Entomology (insects) inspired, botanical decor but with a modern twist. So I went for a dark green, luxurious feel with splashes of gold to reflect the richness and changing colors of the season.
I opted for a dark green velvet cloth as my tablecloth, which instantly added the luxurious factor I was looking for, and punctuated it with moodier black pieces and gold accessories for the modern touch.
To add to the moody look and vibe of the styling, I incorporated black elements like the leather chargers, black dessert plates, flatware and napkin rings.
For the centerpiece I created an insect display in a botanical cloche and surrounded it with greenery and succulents. I love how this was so simple to make and yet looked so chic!
The wood touch on the table centerpiece helped to ground everything and was a nod to the woodsy aspect, and the gold decor elements like candle holders or planters; helped to lift the whole decor and inject some modernity into the ensemble.
DIY Botanical Table Decor Projects
For the projects I used the gorgeous insect die cuts from Sizzix's Catalog 3 as my focal items because I thought they'd be perfect for my botanical inspired table decor!
I created five easy DIY projects for this tablescape, so you can have a few ideas on how to use these insect die cuts. Feel free to re-create them all, or pick your favorite project for your next party!
DIY Botanical Menu Cards - These were made using velum and a heat-embossing gun with gold embossing powder. So pretty and so fun to make!
DIY Insect Cloche Centerpiece - This is probably my favorite project from this botanical tablescape and would look great as a home decor piece as well!
DIY Insect Napkin Rings - Another super simple project to make, that adds a touch of luxury and whimsy to the table.
DIY Insect Straw Decorations - These are super simple to make with my Sizzix Big Shot Machine, and the same technique can be used to decorate so many elements on your party table!
DIY Botanical Party Favors - I made my own insect stamps with the help of a clever Sizzix product, and then personalized my die-cut pillow boxes to match my party theme!
