As part of our inspiration week, we couldn't finish without a super fun theme for the boys . Or girls for that matter, 'cause we actually get just as many sweet customers styling it for their birthday girls ! In fact, the theme came about from my own love of science . You probably don't know this, but I used to be an chemical engineer before parties took over my life...anyways, I relished the chance to design something that included a lab coat, molecular structure designs, and the good ol' test tube . This color party theme has to be one of my favorites. I think it has a lot to do with my love of red and all things 'toadstools' . Don't ask me to reason with you, but there's just something so whimsical about them! Not sure why, but when I think 'Mardi Gras party', I think flamboyant peacock . Maybe it stems from childhood, watching the amazing Rio caraval parade or escolas de samba strutting their stuff on the sambadrome of Sapucaí ! I hate the cold, but one of the perks is the excuse to eat pie. I mean, don't get me wrong, pie is great any time of year as far as I'm concerned. But in winter, it just feels right! So before Spring pops along and we run out of excuse to indulge, here are a few of my favorite recipes -There are sweet, savory, dinky mini pies ( perfect for a pie bar ?!), and big to-share pie whoppers.
