How to Style a Winter Breakfast Bar for Entertaining + Easy Overnight Oats Recipes
This post is sponsored by Best You at Publix. The opinions and text are all mine.
My intentions for this year are to be kinder to myself, to take time to enjoy the little things, and to generally create more hygge moments in my everyday life!
Hygge is a Danish and Norwegian word for a mood of coziness and comfortable conviviality with feelings of wellness and contentment. And this is exactly what I had in mind when I created this winter breakfast bar!
How to Style a Winter Breakfast Bar for Entertaining + Easy Overnight Oats Recipes
So, whether you're hosting a family brunch on the weekend, or any celebration this winter, this cozy and warming winter breakfast bar is sure to tick all those hygge boxes!
For my breakfast bar, I kept things simple, hearty and hostess-friendly with a breakfast spread consisting of delicious overnight oats and a tea bar!
My oatmeal recipe can be made a day ahead, so it's a great time saver, and your guests can personalize their own oatmeal bowls on the day of with various toppings and sprinkles like seeds and nuts, nut butters, chopped fresh or dried fruits, honey, and chocolate sauce to name but a few.
The tea bar is also a super fun idea, and once again, your guests get to interact and choose their own flavors and personalize their hot beverage with lemon slices, honey, and spices like cinnamon, cloves, cardamom, star anise, rose hips or fresh herbs such as mint.
These make-ahead breakfast ideas are perfect for entertaining at home over the winter months, or for starting the new year on a great hygge note!
For my winter breakfast bar, I partnered with Publix and chose products included in their Best You promotion, which I already use and love!
Quaker Old Fashioned oats is my go-to for the perfect overnight oats recipe, and provides such a filling and delicious breakfast base for all those glorious oatmeal toppings!
And my tea bar would not be complete without Lipton® Tea, which lends itself beautifully to all those tea bar spices and flavors!
For the styling of my breakfast bar, inspired by hygge, I chose neutrals with touches of natural wood and lots of white for a calming, peaceful and cozy winter look.
I always love to set up any of my tables the night before an event or celebration, that way, on the day, I have less to worry about and can concentrate on being present with my guests (another intention I seek to keep this year!).
Since the oatmeal is made ahead, all you have to do on the day is to warm it up in individual bowls and let your guests get creative with their toppings. For warmer months, or as a snack idea, you could totally serve the oatmeal cold too. YUM!
I served my tea in a clear glass teapot, which I displayed on a white pedestal to protect my table surface from the heat and to create more visual interest on the table by varying the heights a bit.
Adding various textures and heights is my go-to trick to making any buffet-style table look more appealing and inviting, not to mention that it optimizes the surface space for any reception you may be hosting.
For both the oatmeal and tea bar toppings, I simply decanted them into a cute ceramic serving dishes, and voila - A simple, yet inviting winter breakfast fit for any occasion!
To complete the look, I added a “tea bar” sign to the left of my table so guests can take their cue from it!
I hope you like the ideas and feel inspired to style your own winter breakfast bar for your next party or brunch!
