For my kids Barnyard Birthday Party last year, I wanted to make retro, child toy horse photo props, which doubled as party games and favors too! Though I live in the country near lots of farms, not all of us can afford real stallions...So this wooden version using paper printables, was a quite a fun alternative - Not to mention quick to make!
I'm an advocate for hand-made, and don't care who knows it. BUT I also don't have a lot of time and like any working mom, budget is always at the forefront of my party planning. And last year for my kid's joint Barnyard Birthday it was no different. I ( Mindy ) live in northern California and one of our family’s favorite outings is to the jelly belly factory ! Aubrey was so excited about this theme for her party {and so was her brother ... my little guy has lots of allergies and jelly belly beans are vegan and safe for him to enjoy too} and since Aubrey’s birthday occurred in the middle of writing my book, I relied quite a bit on the incredible vendors (listed at the end) to help make her day special! I also relied on a simple color scheme: Rainbow !
