Summer Pool Party Ideas & Coke Float Station
For me, summer is not complete without a fun pool party.
So for our third shoot with Coca-Cola®, we couldn't pass up the chance get our toes wet!
The weather here's been extremely hot, and I also decided to set up a Coke Float station to also help keep things cool. Literally! ;)
Pool Party Ideas with Coca-Cola® - Coke Float Station
Setting up a Coke Float station is not only mega FUN for all, but also super easy for the hostess. Not to mention that this dessert doubles as a refreshing beverage, which is a HUGE bonus in my party book!
But like I said, the weather was far too hot to have the station outdoors. So I set it up a covered terrace near the pool, and kept the ice creams and Coca-Cola® cool, until my guests were ready to serve themselves.
I personalized my Coke bottles with each guest's names over at ShareaCoke. You can order any name of your choice, how cool is that?!
It's a cute idea to decant your ice cream into cute mini ice cream tubs. Not only for pretty's sake, but also helps you keep most of it cool and frozen, and there's no waste. I tend to freeze the ice cream scoops inside the tubs, which also helps with portion size and serving quickly before it all melts.
As with any self-respecting Coke Flat station, we couldn't leave out the candy and colorful toppings; which I served up in cute popcorn snack boxes matching the color scheme of the party, and with matching disposable bamboo spoons.
To make your yummy Coke Floats is mega simple:
1) Fill a glass container with Coca-Cola®
2) Add scoops of your favorite ice cream (we served strawberry ripple, creme brulée and vanilla)
3) Top with your fav sweet treats
4) Enjoy at once!
You can experiment with the ice cream flavors, but from experience, the above flavored ice creams are a perfect match for the Coke!
Pool Party Ideas - DIY Decorations
Since my color palette was pink, blue and yellow, I got inspired with some honeycomb decorative paper balls and yarn pompoms to create some cute, giant ice cream cones decorations to adorn the table.
You can fin a DIY for the yarn pompoms here.
I also wanted to create a simple ice cream tented station complete with an awning in my color scheme. For the awning, I'm sharing a DIY tutorial later in the week. Keep an eye out ;)
For the floating pool balloons, simply fill standard party balloons with air and place them in the pool. If it's a little windy, you may want to add a little cold water inside each balloon before inflating them, so they're weighed down a little in the water.
No party is complete without balloons, and they just look awesome floating in the pool. Plus, they make for great photos and water shenanigans! ;p
Pool Party Ideas - DIY Floating Pool Bar
Yes, trust!
But for a pool party we also want convenience, and drinks nearby; so we don't have to get out of the pool every time to enjoy a little refreshment...
And a floating pool bar is the solution!!
First, I thought of making one from pool floats, but ain't nobody got time for that!
Plus, I wasn't sure it would hold the weight...
So I opted for one of those inflatable pools for babies. It worked a treat as a DIY floating bar!!
The pool held 6 pounds of ice plus some 12 bottle some Coke, which was plenty for all.
'Course, the ice melts fast, but keeps the drinks super chilled, and means we can lazy around in our pool floats for a while sipping delicious Coke Floats!! :)
