My Pastel Easter Brunch Tablescape
Easter is only a few weeks away, so I thought it would be the perfect time to share this pastel Easter brunch tablescape that I put together for our celebrations at home!
The decor of my Easter table this year was inspired by spring and pastel colors in pink, yellow, blue and green, which also happen to match beautifully with our Easter Bunny printable decorations!
My Pastel Easter Brunch Tablescape
With all the tablescapes I style at home for my family and friends, I like to add a little touch of fun and whimsy to the table decor, especially if my kids are present for the occasion.
Last year I styled a more subdued and elegant Easter brunch table, so this year I wanted to bring a more playful, kid-oriented touch to my table decor while still keeping it elegant enough for Easter brunch.
My color inspiration came from items and table decor I already had at home, and these super cute bunny eggcups I purchased at my local Dollar store!
I bought one in each color with a pastel tablescape in mind, and I just used wherever else I had at home for the rest of the decor.
This tablescape set up is perfect for hosting Easter brunch or lunch at home, or you can copy some of the ideas for a Spring bridal or baby shower luncheon too!
DIY Pastel Honeycomb Garland Backdrop
The first thing I made was this super pretty honeycomb ball garland to frame and adorn the backdrop of my table.
You could also suspend it from a chandelier or hang it from the ceiling right above your table, but since I don't have a way to do that in my studio (ceiling is very weak and no chandelier in sight...), I attached my garland to the wall behind the table.
This sort of decor adds the wow factor without much effort at all, and unlike balloon garlands, they last forever, so you can set up the garland days in advance to save time!
Plus, it doubles as a gorgeous Easter photo-booth backdrop when you and your guests leave the table!
For this garland I basically used honeycomb paper balls of various sizes and colors in my chosen pastel palette of pinks, yellows, blues and greens.
I simply hung the balls using string and tied the ends of the string to metal hooks on the door frames on either side. The garland pretty much "makes itself" when you add various sizes of honeycomb ball. It's pretty straight forward!
To add a little more embellishment to the honeycomb garland, I made some color-coordinated card-stock garlands to hang on top of the honeycomb balls.
You probably saw me making these in my Instagram stories, but if not, then check out the video to see the tutorial!
DIY Pastel Place-mats
For the place-mats, I cut them to size from a roll of fabric table runner I already had at home. Luckily I'm a hoarder, and had the table runners in my chosen color scheme! 😋
I decided to keep each place setting in a separate pastel color - pink, yellow, blue and green and I love how it turned out!
Whimsical Place Settings
I've set the table for four people because it suits our family set-up. But feel free to add more place settings to cater for your own personal situation or event.
On top of each DIY place-mat I added simple white entree and dinner plates. To break up the white a bit, I used linen napkins in between the plates in the matching colors for each place-setting.
On top, I placed the cute bunny egg-cups to hold hard-boiled eggs. Again, all in the the matching color scheme for each place-setting. So cute, don't you think?
To complete each place setting, I added colored votive candle-holders and simple champagne flutes for Mimosas (an Easter brunch essential in our house) and stemless wine glasses used for water or juice.
If you have very young kids at the table, I suggest you use acrylic or plastic versions of the glassware to avoid any mishaps. But my kids are older now, so they can handle it. Also, swap Mimosas for smoothies for a delicious kid-friendly brunch beverage.
In each water glass I added a super cute paper straw with a ribbon detail and printable bunny in the same matching colors. You can download and print the same bunny sticker here.
DIY Floral Table Centerpiece
The floral centerpiece is one of my favorite decor items on this table! It was super easy and affordable to put together too.
I used two white rectangular ceramic troughs and filled them with a block of wet floral foam. I then proceeded to add the foliage (faux grass) and Ranunculus in pink, yellow and pastel orange.
TIP: Mixing faux and real flowers is a great trick to make your floral arrangements appear fuller on a budget, and one I use often for my tables and parties!
Because the Ranunculus have quite soft stems, I had to use a specific technique to insert them into the floral foam. Check out the video below to see how I did it!
Pretty Party Favors
You probably heard me say this many times before...but no table or party of mine is complete without some sort of gift or party favor.
So I opted for a mini baking cups filled with speckled chocolate Easter eggs for each guest to enjoy at the table, and a little surprise gift bag in each place-setting.
Again, I matched my baking cups, eggs and goodie bags to each designated place-setting color.
The beauty of these cute party bags is that you can fill them with anything you like! I chose Easter cookies and chocolate (store-bought is fine😉). But you could fill them with macarons, candy or small gifts too.
To decorate each gift bag I used printable decorative papers, printable gift bows and gift tags, all from our Easter Bunny kit. Don't they look super adorable?! 😍
