Earl Grey Tea Bag Cookies Recipe
If you love Earl Grey tea as much as I do, then you'll LOVE today's post! ☕🍪
My daughter and I made these Earl Grey cookies for our tea party last week, but I'm thinking this is going to become a regular treat in our house!
These Earl Grey flavored cookies are shaped like a teabag and dipped in melted chocolate (YUM!), so I'm thinking they'd be perfect also for a garden party, baby or bridal shower brunch too.
I love baking with my kids every weekend, and this recipe can be entirely made by kiddos, with adult supervision of course!
These tea cookies would also make great edible gifts for hampers or to give to teacher's at the end of the school year, or to gift to neighbors, grandparents etc.
They are so tasty, my husband has already requested a batch for father's day too! 😋
Check out the delicious, easy to make recipe below! And let us know in the comments if you'd make these? 👍
Earl Grey Tea Bag Cookies
Yield: 12-15 cookies
Earl Grey Tea Bag Cookies Recipe - an easy to make and delicious biscuits recipe for a tea party, mother's day or simply to treat yourself!
ingredients:
- 1 tablespoon earl grey tea (I cut open a tea bag and used the contents)
- 260 g flour
- 225 g butter at room temperature
- 60 g powder sugar
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
- 100 g melted chocolate (use whatever kind you prefer, dark, white..)
instructions:
How to cook Earl Grey Tea Bag Cookies
- Blend together the tea and icing sugar in a bowl.
- In a mixer fitted with a paddle attachment, add butter and flavored sugar, and beat until creamy.
- Add the vanilla extract, and mix until incorporated.
- Add the flour and mix until just incorporated.
- Flour your worktop and roll the dough into a ball.
- Roll out the dough to about 0.5 cm (1/4 inch) thick.
- Use a teabag template to cut the cookies with a sharp knife (we made ours using a real teabag as template and drew it onto a piece of card)
- Make a hole at the top of each cookie using a lollipop stick.
- Place the cookies on a tray lined with parchment paper, then bake in a preheated oven at 180°C (356°F)for 12 to 15 minutes. The cookies should remain pale.
- Transfer them to a wire rack to cool completely.
- Once the cookies have cooled down, melt the chocolate at 30 second intervals in the microwave.
- Dip half of each cookie in the melted chocolate to make it look like there is tea inside, and place it on a tray lined with baking paper to dry.
- When dry, tie a piece of string to each cookie to make them look like teabags.
NOTES:
These Earl Grey cookies can be stored in an airtight container for about a week. You can also freeze the uncooked cookies and then bake them from frozen, then dip into chocolate when ready to serve.
