Hibiscus Iced Tea Recipe
Ever since making my Hibiscus Margarita, I've been obsessing over new ways to include Hibiscus in other recipes.
I know that iced tea is not necessarily a groundbreaking recipe to use hibiscus in, but since summer's here, I'm sharing another tasty beverage that you can whip up in no time to refresh your taste buds!
This hibiscus iced tea is also super pretty, and the ideal drink to serve to the whole family at your 4th of July celebrations!
To make this hibiscus iced tea, you'll basically need only hibiscus, water and a sweetener of choice.
But I added some citrus fruit slices to contrast the flavors and make it look super summery. But why stop there?! For extra pizzazz, you could also add mint leaves, berries or make some hibiscus flower ice cubes to serve it with!
And for an adult-only version of this drink, you could spike your iced tea with vodka or a dash of Tequila too, to turn this hibiscus iced tea into an instant summer cocktail! 🍹
This drinks not only looks very summer-worthy, but it taste so refreshing and is really good for you! Hibiscus is one of those super foods trending right now, and I can totally understand why!
Apparently, hibiscus is packed with anti-oxidants and polyphenols, and may help to lower your blood pressure, body fat levels, may promote weight-loo, improve liver health and it's even been suggested that it may help to fight cancer.
I can't personally attest to any of the health benefits above (as I'm not a doctor...), but I basically just use it as an ingredient for its taste and pretty color. Nothing wrong with that, right?! 😬
I personally love the deep pink/red color this tea gives out, and cannot wait to make many more tasty and visually appealing recipes using hibiscus!
