Today's post is a Halloween chocolate and orange cake, with a chocolate orange buttercream, a chocolate drip and sweet meringue ghosts to add extra spookiness to the ensemble! Talk about spook-tacular, right?! 👻 This cake combines some of the trendiest techniques out there for decorating layer cakes, like stripes and drips, and the chocolate orange flavor is a combo made in Halloween heaven. This witch has been brewing... Pumpkin Spice Hot Chocolates that is!! The weather really caught us by surprise on the weekend, and the chilly days seem to have arrived out of nowhere and with a vengeance! So what's a witch to do?!! Concoct a yummy brew for her little goblins, did you say?! :) The fun thing is, making a big batch of these hot cocoa mixes and decanting them into little cute jars, makes the prefect last minute NON-CANDY Halloween party favor or gift! Toffee apples take me right back to childhood. I remember walking past the sweet stands selling them at carnivals and country fairs, and I always pestered my mom to buy them. I totally favored these over cotton candy every time! And autumn is the perfect time to make these delicious, crunchy toffee apples at home. Forget bobbing for apples, toffee apples is where it's at! ;) Oh, and did I mention it's super easy too? I love them even more now!
Fall temps call for comfort food, am I right? Hence this decadent Oreo cake! This chocolate Oreo layer cake is my daughter's all-time favorite cake and she requests it for every birthday, which I'm more than glad to oblige since it's oh-so delicious and super fun to make! If you like chocolate and Oreos (like us), than you really can't go wrong with this chocolate layer cake with Oreo buttercream and a chocolate ganache drip to finish things off! YUM!

Tiramisu is one of my all time favorite desserts. I say classic, but really it's far from it, 'cause for my usual Tiramisu I use cinnamon cookies instead of the traditional ladyfingers. I adore cinnamon just a much as pumpkins. And coffee. Editing a magazine is a lot like a baking a cake. Getting your tools ready, making a little mess in the process, but knowing that if you get all these different ingredients together in the right way, hopefully you'll create something drool-worthy at the end. You don't know how your recipe's gonna turn out until you get it out of the oven. The wait is also a little long, but it's all SO worth it in the end! ;)
