'Tis the season of pumpkins so I couldn't pass up the opportunity to make one of my favorite desserts - pumpkin spice Brazilian Brigadeiro, aka pumpkin spice truffles! These little sweet bites not only look quite adorable, but they're also SO incredibly tasty, made with condensed milk and all the comforting flavors of Fall! YUM! If you like pumpkin pie or pumpkin spice anything, then you'll love these! In fact, these make a great alternative to your more traditional Fall or Halloween pumpkin desserts. Plus, they'll look just as yummy on a Thanksgiving desserts platter too, so be sure to pin it for later! 😉
Pumpkin Shaped Cheese Ball Appetizer
Thanksgiving is nearly here (how did that happen?), and so I find myself dreaming up pumpkin-themed crafts, recipes and décor. Are you the same? 😁 Hence, this pumpkin-shaped cheese ball appetizer that looks so fun, tastes SO yummy, but was a doddle to make! I love a tasty grazing board or charcuterie platter for entertaining, so for each season I try to re-invent the classic cheese board spread to bring a little fun to my party tables!
I love all the themed Halloween treats around, but my priority these days is to make something delicious but that's also easy and that I can whip up with store-cupboard ingredients if possible 😉 Hence these adorable Halloween Jack O' Lantern hand pies! These yummy pies are not only super fun to look at, but they're also very tasty indeed, only require 2 ingredients, and you can whip up a batch in a jiffy!
French Almond Frangipane Galette des Rois or Kings Cake Recipe
Epiphany is nearly upon us so I thought I'd share a super delicious, but really easy to make dessert that is so popular this time of year in France - the Galette des Rois or Three Kings Cake ! This is really a tart or pie sort of "cake" that dates back to medieval times, and is meant to celebrate the feast of the three wise men or three kings from the nativity of Christ. The Epiphany feast is held on the 6th of January each year, and this dessert is therefore eaten on this day of course, but folks start enjoying it as early as January 1st in my experience living in France.
Feta Cheese and Sweet Potato Filo Pastry Samosa Appetizers
Fall is the season for pies, so I thought I'd share these tasty, savory feta cheese and sweet potato samosas or hand-pies, which are the perfect appetizer and ideal for entertaining! My husband cooks most of the time at our house, so this recipe is originally his, but using spinach instead of sweet potato, 'cause he's not a fan 😲 But because he had forgotten to buy the spinach, I snatched his ingredients to make these delicious feta cheese and sweet potato appetizers, because my kids and I LOVE sweet potatoes!
Now that summer's ending, this is the perfect recipe to make the most of those Cantaloupe melons which are still abundantly available, but not quite at their best. A few summers ago, my husband successfully grew cantaloupe melons from seed in our garden, and it's become one of favorite summer fruits! This year we have added it to salads, smoothies, fruit salads...and now, this delicious and refreshing melon lemonade!
This summer I've been making a lot of treats as you can probably tell from aaaall the recipe posts I've been sharing here on the blog 😋 And this tres leches (three milks) ice cream has become my go-to, easy treat to serve on its own or to accompany any dessert (think pies, cakes, fruit salad etc.). This milky and creamy ice cream recipe only requires 3 ingredients, which you probably already have at home, and NO ice cream machine in sight! 👍
This recipe came about by accident, sort of. I was looking for a recipe online that I could make to use up all the blackberries I have growing in my garden. Eventually I found a simple enough cheesecake recipe and bought all the ingredients to make it, but on the day I decided to make it, the blackberries were not ripe yet! So, I swapped the blackberries for frozen summer berries (which I always have in the freezer), and it was a hit!
Flowerpot Chocolate Chip Cupcakes with Sugar Paste Flowers
Since we've been sharing some wedding ideas in the last couple of weeks, I thought I'd post these flower pot cupcakes, since they'd be perfect for any wedding or bridal shower you may be planning! My go-to chocolate chip cupcakes are baked directly in small clay pots, then topped with a simple buttercream tinted green to give the illusion of grass, and crowned with handmade sugar paste edible flowers!
