A few weeks back I submitted a paper lampshade to a design competition at my dear friend Katia's Blog - Casos e Coisas da Bonfa. Although this post is sooooo overdue, Katia has kindly agreed to let me share with you guys the template for the lampshades! YAY!!
These lampshade are a very cool, as they can be used as centre-pieces to a dinner table or just as general party or wedding centrepiece! They sit onto a wine glass or tall glass, where you place a tea-candle! Cool, huh?! :)
Katia is someone I really admire and respect, and someone who's work I drool over!! I'm a a total fan and unconditional stalker of her fabulous Blog, full of creative ideas!! So, it's with great pleasure I give you this really cool lampshade template...

I didn't win, but I thought I'd show you guys my entry. I was going for a shabby chic, romantic and vintage look....
Firstly, I printed the lampshade template onto some white card-stock and used a background pattern I designed for my Wedding Stationary Collection.
But you can print it onto coloured card-stock, patterned, or white paper and embellish as you like!
Cut around the outlines and cut slits with exacto knife, then insert tabs into slits! :)

Using double-sided tape, I stuck thin layers around the top and bottom rims of the assembled paper shade and attached some vintage ribbon.
Then, I just hot-glued a tulle flower and ceramic tea rose and jewel to the centre.
Both the vintage ribbon and rose were a giveaway prize I won from Carol at The Polka Dot Closet! Aren't they stunning?! Thanks Carol for this beautiful and practical gift!! :)
Carol has a taste for wonderfully romantic, vintage pieces that are so unique and beautifully made!

As I did not have a tall wine glass, I used an Irish Coffee one and just tied an organza ribbon to the base.
I must say, I really like the dainty result but also the versatility of the template! You could use it to create soooo many fantastic lampshade to suit any occasion!
