This Gumpaste Mistletoe tutorial is from our fabulously talented guest contributor Shaile !! Isn't this perfect as a cake topper for Christmas Yule log?! We can't get the mistletoe where I live, for love nor cupcakes. So this version made with gumpaste is just what I've been looking for! Shaile is a professional sugar artist, so she has listed all the proper equipment used and vendors. But don't be alarmed by the list of tools needed! As you'll see from the images, it's not at all complicated, and you can get away with using whatever you've got to hand in your kitchen to mark the leaves and roll out the gumpaste.

I'm thinking raffia instead of the wool for Thanksgiving , or twine for a crafty party, or even lace or ribbon for a sewing themed bash or bridal shower!

DIY Wedding Table Number with Free Printables
As part of my recent wedding story for HGTV , I got to play with spray paint and create my very own mini pedestal stands. I had found some vintage pink saucers in a flea marked, and all I needed was to spray paint some ceramic candlesticks to match. I have to say I was hooked - Not only was it easy to make, so pretty, but also way more inexpensive than buying individual stands. Now I have all sorts of plans for making larger DIY ceramic cake and cupcake stand - So watch this space! ;)
DIY Pink Candles and Glitter Candle Holders
I recently worked on another super fun shoot for HGTV (hope to share details soon!) and had some leftover materials and a burst of inspiration (not to mention a bunch of glass yogurt pots I had been collection for yonks...). This is how these pink, glittered, candle cuties came to be. They'd be perfect for those lazy summer evenings - Imagine how they'd flicker and glisten on your tabletops or patios. Pretty picture, right?! :) Super easy to make too (I used melt and pour wax!). Get the full crafty tutorial below.
DIY Photo Cube Gift for Father's Day
Remember this CD candle holder I posted here? Well, I thought the same idea would make for a super fun, mega quick craft. And hence the perfect last minute father's day gift! But instead of a candle holder (not sure dads are into scented candles much...), I made a personalized photo cube that dad can use to store all his bits and bobs, or display proudly on his desk or bed-side table! What's not to like? It's handmade with love, super quick to make, involves up-cycling unwanted items (so it's also inexpensive), and oozes bespoke charm?! ;)
DIY Rustic Log Tree Stump Pedestal Cake Stand
As promised last week, I'm sharing today the tutorial on how I made my Rustic Log Cake Stand . These babies brand new, can set you back at least $30, so making your own is a steal, and totally more fun too! ;) They are ideal for a rustic wedding or birthday party or Fall celebration - how about a woodland birthday party (think Red Riding Hood , Bambi , Vintage Snow White , Camping Party ...) but also perfect for those rustic, shabby chic bridal or baby showers or weddings too!

My daughter LOVED crafting with me on the weekend; and as a proud mom (not ashamed to say) I just couldn't help myself and took some extra shots of my precious, pretty in pink baby ♥
DIY Easter Bunny Push-up Pops Party Centerpiece
As always, I love finding novel ways to use party printables, and this is how these little Easter B unny Push-up Pops came about. I had some printable bunny cupcake wrappers left from my Easter Kids' Egg Hunt Party photo shoot, and couldn't bear to throw them out, so I got my trusty puncher out and few supplies, and voila - Easy and super quick Easter Push-Pop Centerpiece that doubles as party favors holder. Life doesn't get sweet that that for a party nerd like me! :)
DIY No-Sew Easy Plush Paper Flowers
These Plush Flowers, believe it or not; are made from paper napkins and super quick to make too! They are a variation on my plush fabric flowers that I shared here . Don't they just look so cute?! AND they do not require any sewing , nor a lot of time - The idea came to me when styling our recent Easter Garden Party . I really wanted to use pastel colored plush flowers, but did not have the time nor disposition to get out my sewing kit, and wondered if the technique would work with paper. Well, it did - Just proves again how necessity (or laziness) really is the mother of all invention! ;) Get the full step-by-step below...
