My daughter has been obsessed with slime for a couple of years now. She's forever watching YouTube videos about making slime at home, buying slime whenever she sees it in the shops, and basically just driving me crazy talking about slime. Can you relate, mamas? 😋 I've always been anti-slime myself. I mean, anything sticky that may cling to your carpet, hair and floors and that involves "wasting" household ingredients like washing-up liquid or flour...didn't spark joy for me. Buuuut, I completely changed my mind once I made slime myself!
Halloween for my family has always been about the fun costumes, snuggling up on the sofa while watching movies, and eating candy. So although Halloween may look a little different this year, we'll still just see it as an excuse to snuggle up on the sofa to watch fun movies...and eat lots of candy! 😁 Hence these adorably cute, decorative Halloween throw pillows to make our sofas a little more cozy and a lot more BOO-tiful 👻
This year, Halloween is a little more demure at ours. So, I opted for creating a few decorations that would reflect a "calmer" and more cozy vibe with neutral colors and a more paired-down style. To be honest, I much rather prefer this black and white, clean, modern monochrome vibe than anything too loud anyways! Not to mention that, (apart from the spider webs) this décor can be re-purposed for the November and Fall months too!

As part of my green and gold Christmas Holiday tablescape , I made these cute DIY glitter ornaments to act as place-card holders on my party table. They helped add a little shimmer and sparkle to each place-setting, and were SO easy and quick to make! I made them the night before the party. Just shows you can create something special and last-minute, without much effort. And THAT is my fav kind of craft!! 😉
Man, I love a good party photo booth, don't you?! Especially if it's easy to put together ;) Don't get me wrong, I totally adore those beautifully crafted DIY photo booths full of intricate paper flowers or balloon backdrops we see all over Pinterest . But in reality, for my own party photo booths, I tend to go less OTT and opt for a more low-key version.
Confession time: Despite my love of parties, I never go OTT on costumes for Halloween. And I hate those shop-bought "monstrosities" costumes that you only wear once. But I DO like dressing the part for any party or celebration. So I tend to opt for some funky tee-shirts, crazy tights, makeup or a little black dress ( like in this post ). And almost every time, I reach our for animal ear headbands to complete the look (the mean girls "I'm a mouse, duh!" phrase comes to mind...).
