Hot Cross Buns

Hot Cross Buns

Hey friends, Easter is 'round the corner and I've decided to share with you one of my favorite recipes EVER - Hot cross buns !!  These delicious, lightly spiced sweet bread rolls make for the perfect Easter breakfast, lunch or treat and are quite simple to make too!  I absolutely love eating hot cross buns any time of day though, and this year I tried a new recipe that I just had to share it with you guys, since they turned out SO good!

Lemon and Berries Cake with Mascarpone Frosting

Lemon and Berries Cake with Mascarpone Frosting

Lately I've been hooked on baking cakes. Layered cakes to be precise. I think it's the influence of all those amazing cake-decorating videos and accounts on Instagram ! 💁 Hence, my latest creation - this delicious, super pretty and oh-so easy to bake and decorate lemon and berries cake with Mascarpone frosting.  We served this cake at our mothers' day tea party a couple weeks ago, but it would be perfect to serve at a baby or bridal shower, or any other spring or summer party!

Brazilian Carrot Bundt Cake Recipe

Brazilian Carrot Bundt Cake Recipe

Did you see the floral Easter brunch we shared last week? ( click here to see the photos ). Well, this Brazilian carrot bundt cake has become a sort of tradition in our home at Easter. Not only because of it's so tasty with its creamy chocolate ganache and fun, bright orange color, but because it's also super simple to make.  And mainly, because it's a cake recipe passed down from my mom! 😊

Spring Blossom Cocktail Recipe

Spring Blossom Cocktail Recipe

Mildly entertaining true story: I planned to shoot this Cherry Blossom Cocktail recipe with the beautiful cherry flowers we have in our cherry trees. But when it came to the shoot day, the blossom were all washed out by the rain! Shock horror!  But I soon spotted that our peach trees were in fact blossoming (and looked pretty similar to the cherry ones..) and so decided to Google it, and lo and behold; it turns out they are just as edible as cherry blossom. Phew!

Recipe | Easter Chocolate Mousse in Chocolate Egg Shells

Recipe | Easter Chocolate Mousse in Chocolate Egg Shells

I recently saw  a recipe on Pinterest   with a dessert served inside an egg shell. Well, my being to total chocoholic that I am, I thought to myself  " wouldn't it be great if the shells were made of chocolate too?! " - 'Cause it's a know fact there's NO such thing as "too much chocolate"!  So I set off on a culinary experiment to make it as easy as possible to serve my chocolate mousse inside chocolate egg shells  - BUT without the fuss of making the shells from scratch! ;)

Easter Chick Brunch Salad Recipe

And I can tell you, these little chicks rocked their world!  The main ingredients are simply bread, cheese, and salad veg, but I can assure your little (or big..) ones will love helping you make this colorful and yummy  Easter Chick Spring Salad - Looks so cute as part of Easter brunch menu + is a great way to get them to eat their veg! ;)

DIY Hatching Chicks Cake Pops Recipe

DIY Hatching Chicks Cake Pops Recipe

My kid's Barnyard Birthday Party was posted a couple of days ago, but already have a few emails asking me about the cake pop chicks, so I think you're gonna like this post! ;) I was inspired by a fabulously talented friend from Lynlee's Petite Cakes when I made these "Hatching Chick" cake pops - I remembered seeing Lynlee's similar idea using fondant sugar paste and  push-up pops on Bird's Party Magazine Issue 5 , and thought I could make a similar chick but with cake pops instead!
