My favorite part of the Christmas Holidays is cooking and baking well into the New Year. It's my way of showing my family and friends how much I love them. I feed, therefore I love 😋 But I also like putting my feet up and enjoy their company, so I tend to go for big batch recipes, stuff I can make ahead or easy bang-it-in-the-oven-and-forget-about-it type of recipes. Hence this tasty Christmas roast pork with a gorgeous herbs and mustard crust, which I served at my Christmas meal last year!
I styled this green and gold Christmas Holiday party last year, but never got a chance to show it here on the blog. But I'm glad to be sharing now, 'cause apparently the 2017 Pantone color of the year is green (or greenery), so we're bang on trend! 😉 This was one of the easiest table decor styling or tablescapes I've ever done. My sister was coming over from London for Christmas, and I wanted to create homely, cozy atmosphere for our family dinner.
I created this gorgeous and super easy Christmas baubles ornaments garland for my Holiday Cocktails & Appetizers party I shared last week. Did you see it up behind our the bar?! So pretty! Originally, I wanted to make a baubles ornament wreath, but those things look a LOT easier in theory, I tell ya! Have you ever tried making one? Man, they are a pain! Not only you always end up with a lot less baubles than you thought you might need, which means endless trips to the shops to buy more...not to mention they take aaaaages to get looking so full and pretty like you see on Pinterest , and let's not even mention the hot glue burns. Sigh...
When it come to Holiday entertaining, it's always a great idea to serve a big-batch punch or signature cocktail that your guests can get stuck into straight away. Something that involves little effort, and maximum satisfaction is my motto. So for my Silver & Blue Cocktail and Appetizers party I shared earlier in the week, I did just that. Serving up a batch cocktail like this means you can prep it in advance and just forget about it, which in turn leaves you free to mingle and enjoy the party! Something we tend to forget sometimes at parties we host ourselves (sound familiar?) 😉

When it comes to creating a table centerpiece (or any decor for that matter) that's original and inexpensive, I turn to paper! Bonus points if you can re-purpose, re-use or recycle papers you may already have around the home, like I did for my Origami Christmas Trees table centerpiece this year.

Okay, so the traditional Scottish shortbread cookie aren't really meant to be "Christmas trees". They're just baked in a round cake pan, then cut into triangles. But I think if you dip them in chocolate and sprinkle with sugar stars like I did, they totally look the part, don't you think? :) Therefore PERFECT for Christmas and Holiday parties!

Christmas is 'round the corner! Can you believe it?! One of my favorite traditions in our house, is the Christmas themed breakfast . Whether on Christmas eve, a few days before or Christmas morning itself, going all out this time of year to treat the little ones is all part of the joy! Most week days it's our schedules and 'routine' breakfast rituals that take over. And since kids wake up at silly o' clock at Christmas anyways, you might a swell roll with it! Plus, it's also nice for me to prepare something a little more special and magical for my little elves ;)
Following on from yesterday's Santa inspired post, I thought I'd share the DIY for the cupcakes I made to match my Christmas Candyland desserts table . I used sugar paste f ondant and printable toppers to decorate the cupcakes. It's not rocket science - more like playing with modelling clay! :)
