The Olympic Games officially begin later this week. The whole world will be watching and cheering for their favorite teams and events. What better way for the kids to celebrate the magic of the moment than having their own Olympic torch and gold medals? Today's tutorials is courtesy of my mega talented friend Cheryl from Sew Can Do ! Cheryl and I have worked together on several occasion, you might have spotted the gorgeous, golden plush torch and medals she created for the Olympic Party I styled?! As part of our 'Olympic Party Week' I thought I'd share with you a really easy tutorial I created for the backdrop of my Olympic Desserts Table - As seen on Bird's Party Magazine :) It's the perfect DIY decoration to embellish a photo booth, party table backdrop or sporty birthday walls!

These homemade crayons make for really fun, and economical party favors for any age, and it's a great use for all those broken up crayons lying around the house! ;) I made them for my kid's Big Top Circus birthday party to accompany some handmade coloring books . But you can adapt the tutorial to s uit any party theme, just change the molds! !

My dad's in town (woo-hoo!!) and he's been seriously helping me out! Not only he plays with the kids, does the washing up (by choice..) , but he also inspires me artistically and actually lends a hand with my party photo shoots and party printable work - Needless to say, the kids are over the moon and so am I! :)
Last summer I was preparing my children's joint birthday Garden Party , scouring the internet for ideas, tutorials etc, and that was when I discovered the world of crafts. But most importantly, I discovered that I loved creating stuff with my own hands, and the instant gratification of seeing something I made bring smile to the faces of those I loved.
