With Cinco de Mayo 'round the corner we're all into Mexican inspired party ideas this week (as if you haven't noticed..) And since Mojitos are my fav drinks of all time, I decided to impart its much loved flavors into a cake form for our fiesta celebrations ! I can't tell you how GOOD this crazy idea tasted! Even my husband who is not really partial to cakes or Mojitos, couldn't get enough of it! 😀

Easter is 'round the corner and as promised in my last post , today' I'll be sharing a delicious, savory cake recipe that's perfect for your brunch! This is not a novel idea. My mom has been making savory cakes for years, with chicken, Spring vegetables, tuna etc. But this smoked salmon version is perfect for Easter brunch, don't you think?!

Kibbe (also kibe or kibbeh) originally a Middle-Eastern dish brought to Brazil by immigrants, but now it's been thoroughly embedded in Brazilian culture and cuisine, so you always find at parties, bars, restaurants...it's become one of their most popular dishes! And it's a perfect appetizer or snack when you're watching the Olympic Games in Rio this year! ;)

My mom lives in Rio, and she says the city is already buzzing with excitement and stunning displays to welcome the crowds!

Every time I go in there, I HAVE to stop and smells the scents in the air! Just dreamy... It's such a generous plant, and to me, synonymous with summer. So much so that I decided to pair it with peaches and incorporate it in a cocktail recipe that celebrates the best this season has to offer!
There's nothing we love more 'round here than a great summer cocktail! But when you have a small crowd to serve, making individual cocktails can be a little too taxing in the summer heat. So all the big-batch cocktails like this Pineapple Rum Sangria , get my vote every summer! It's perfect for entertaining this time of year, not to mention that it's super easy to make and tastes like tropical paradise in a glass!

Mildly entertaining true story: I planned to shoot this Cherry Blossom Cocktail recipe with the beautiful cherry flowers we have in our cherry trees. But when it came to the shoot day, the blossom were all washed out by the rain! Shock horror! But I soon spotted that our peach trees were in fact blossoming (and looked pretty similar to the cherry ones..) and so decided to Google it, and lo and behold; it turns out they are just as edible as cherry blossom. Phew!
