Father's Day is this Sunday, and if you need easy, no-cooking-involved, no-fuss but totally delicious ideas to celebrate dad, then this Cheese and Beer Tasting party is IT! I mean, I don't know many dads who'd pass up the chance to taste beer on his special day (or any day...). Or cheese. Or cheese AND beer together! Cheese and beer might sound heavy for summer, but we kept the cheeses light, serving it alongside fresh and seasonal produce, all washed down with more refreshing, summery types of beers.
Last year I styled a super pretty Easter tablescape complete with a DIY floral table runner . So this year I wanted to change things up a bit, and keep things a little more casual and low-key. I still wanted pretty table mind, but one that was much quicker and easier to style. Summer is coming to an end, boo! And as much as I've been trying to resist the transition into Fall, school for my kiddos starts next week, so there's no denying it any longer. Double boo! But to lessen the blow, and make sure we still make the most of the hot days - yes, it's still 40 deg C in the shade 'round these parts; we celebrated last weekend with an end of summer patio party ! It's our way to enjoy the fine produce on offer at the end of season, and relax before the school routine finally kicks in.
Summer is the perfect season to try and eat healthier. With an abundance of fresh produce in season, summer's when I create lighter and fresher meals at home. One of my favorite quick snacks/drinks to serve my family is a smoothie. We love it for breakfast, we love it in a bowl, we love it as a tasty treat... So I got thinking it would be so fun to set up a smoothie bar for a party! Such a refreshing idea for a bridal or baby shower, summer brunch or any summer celebration!
I have Latin blood in my veins, so Cinco de Mayo is one celebration I'm particularly drawn to. Mainly because of the lashings of Mojito, churros and tacos involved, let's be honest 😋 Last year we held an outdoors fiesta ( see all the photos, video and recipes here ), so this year I decided to bring the party indoors, but still keeping the colorful and fun vibe that's associated with all Mexican fiestas!
This year for Easter, we styled a super pretty floral brunch that's fresh and colorful, but also easy to put together. I styled this green and gold Christmas Holiday party last year, but never got a chance to show it here on the blog.
